Small Story 427.

Small Story 427 Sweet Sapota After finishing his morning walk, Ram entered the Corner Junction where his group of friends met every day. As he arrived, he saw Vijay and Shashi helping Jayanna carry twelve packets from his car. The packets were full of fresh sapota fruits, freshly picked from Jayanna’s farmhouse. Every year, Jayanna brought these fruits to share with his friends, a gesture that reflected his kind and generous nature — as sweet as his sapotas. Ram thanked Jayanna warmly after receiving his packet. His granddaughter loved sapota fruits, and he was glad to take home some that were so fresh and full of flavor. Ram admired the group’s close bonding and affection. Each friend contributed something whenever possible — fruits from their farms, snacks from their factories, or festive treats. For example, Satish shared packets of rava from his factory every year during the Ugadi festival. These simple acts of sharing brought them all closer together. At their stage of life, Ram thought, what more could anyone need? Friendship, affection, and a few sweet memories — like the taste of sapota — were more than enough. With a happy heart and a sweet smile, Ram returned to his apartment, carrying not just the fruits, but also the warmth of friendship. K.Ragavan 12-11-25
