Small Story 445.
Small Story 445.
Divine Days at Ragigudda
Sudha, with great difficulty in the heavy traffic, finally reached her cousin Reshma’s house in JP Nagar, near the famous Ragigudda temple. Reshma greeted her warmly and offered her a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Sudha relished its taste and aroma.
Shaking her head, Sudha remarked, “The traffic in our garden city, Bengaluru, is increasing day by day. Every time I come from Channapatna for the Hanumanth Jayanthi celebrations at Ragigudda, it feels even more crowded.”
Reshma agreed. “Yes, Sudha, especially in our area. Two-wheelers and cars rush from all directions. Crossing the road itself is a tough task nowadays. But the celebrations here are grand every year. Your dedication to come all the way shows your devotion.”
Sudha smiled softly. “I love the celebrations, the people’s devotion, and the festive stalls selling everything at reasonable prices.”
That evening, Reshma, Sudha, and Reshma’s daughter Anupama visited the temple together. The entire place glowed with lights, chants, and the festive spirit of Hanumanth Jayanthi.
After spending two peaceful and joyful days in Ragigudda, Sudha returned to Channapatna. Her heart was full—with the memory of the temple darshan, the celebrations, and the delicious meals and sweets lovingly prepared by Reshma, the excellent cook.
Sudha carried home not just prasad, but the warmth of family and the divine aura of Ragigudda.
