The demise of the 84-year-old versatile Bollywood comedy actor Asrani is a profound loss to the Indian film industry. Renowned for his impeccable comic timing, expressive dialogue delivery, and remarkable versatility, he carved a distinct niche for himself and earned immense respect over a career spanning decades. Asrani shared the screen with some of the most iconic actors in Hindi cinema and contributed to numerous successful and memorable films. Among his many celebrated roles, his portrayal of the eccentric jailor in Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay remains one of the most iconic performances in Indian cinema history.
