Small Story 434.

Small Story 434 – Aneesh Story Continuation Next day, early morning at 6 AM, Aneesh got up and wished his Mumma. He looked at the framed photo of his father and mother on the wall and closed his eyes for a moment, praying silently. Ambujam, who was arranging the prayer items, asked gently, “I hope you haven’t forgotten your habit, Aneesh?” Aneesh smiled. “How can I forget, Ma? Even in Dubai I used to see this photo every day. I take blessings from both of you before I begin my day. And every day I pray that one day I will surely find Dad… the man who left us for better prospects when I was just five years old.” Ambujam touched his shoulder softly. “He left for the US to meet his friend… and after that, two decades have passed. But I always told you—your Dad will come back one day.” Aneesh nodded. “I remember, Ma. Even at the age of five, I knew how loving and kind he was. I still carry that memory.” After their short conversation, Aneesh went to brush his teeth. When he returned, a wonderful aroma filled the house. His mother had prepared a hot cup of delicious tea with ginger and cardamom. “Breakfast will be ready soon,” she said warmly. “I’m making idly and your favourite coconut chutney. At 9 AM I’ll leave for my office. I’ll keep your lunch on the table. After your bath and pooja, you can eat by 12 PM.” By 8:30 AM, Aneesh enjoyed the soft idlis and chutney lovingly served by his mother. Soon after, Ambujam left for her duty at the Tirunelveli One Town Post Office. Once his mother left, the house grew silent. Aneesh went to the bathroom to take his bath. He admired the beautiful layout of their home—the tasteful colours, modern fittings, and the spacious 2000 sq. ft. construction that his mother had planned so carefully over the years. He whispered to himself, “Mumma has built this home with so much love… Dad should see this one day.” A gentle breeze blew through the window, as if giving him hope. Aneesh felt a sudden determination rising within him. The search for his father would begin soon. To be continued… K.Ragavan 19-11-25
