Small Story 435.

Small Story 435 Aneesh Story Continuation While doing his pooja, Aneesh received a call from his mummy. “Hey, did you have your breakfast? This evening my client, Bakthavachalam—he has many deposits with our post office—is coming to our house along with his granddaughter. They are on holiday. They’ll be here by 6 PM. I’ll be back home by 5:15.” “Okay, Mum. I’ll be here only. I won’t go for walking,” Aneesh replied. In the evening, Ambujam arrived at 5:15 PM carrying a box of famous halwa and some pocket snacks for the guests. “Mummy, the food is amazing as usual. Your taste is unmatched,” Aneesh said. “Thank you, dear,” whispered Ambujam with a smile. Exactly at 6 PM, Bakthavachalam, 75 years old and retired from the Income Tax Department, arrived with his 21-year-old granddaughter, Aparna—a pleasant and beautiful girl. After the introductions, Bakthavachalam said, “I have known your mummy for the past seven years because I shifted all my old FDs to the post office. She gives very good service and is always courteous to clients. Happy to meet you, Aneesh. This is my granddaughter, Aparna. She lost her parents in an accident. She is being taken care of by her dad’s close friend, who also met with the same accident but survived.” Aparna added softly, “Hi… I live in Dubai and work for Etisalat as an engineer. I’m also taking care of my dad’s friend, who lost his memory in the accident. He is still in a coma and unable to remember anything from the past.” “I’m really sorry to hear that,” Aneesh said. “Wishing him a speedy recovery.” After spending an hour together, everyone enjoyed the halwa, Ambujam’s famous Mysorepak, onion pakoda and tea. Soon after, the guests prepared to leave. Before stepping out, Aparna gave her phone number to Aneesh. “Keep in touch once I return to Dubai,” she said with a gentle smile. After they left, Ambujam nudged Aneesh and nodded approvingly. “Aparna is such a nice and beautiful girl… Whoever marries her will be the luckiest person.” Aneesh simply smiled, her words lingering in his mind.
