Tribute to Media's role in society and adherence to ethics 816 The role played by media in all languages, with authenticity and coverage, has been laudable for decades. Today, people in remote corners stay updated with the latest news in the country through this medium, thanks to internet facilities provided by electricity connections, which the present government has extended to all remote villages. On one hand, I applaud the services rendered by most media channels in their respective languages to deliver news to the people, including English, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and other regional languages. However, a few channels have forgotten the importance of communicating in the local language for easy understanding by the people. One channel predominantly communicates in English, despite being supposed to communicate in the local language of Karnataka, Kannada, to inform Kannadigas of the latest developments. Media must deliver news in the languages they are bestowed with to ensure easy understanding by the people.
