Letter.

Letter Published in The National UAE on 8March 20 Tu nisia needs po lit i cal sta bil ity, and there are signs of it I write in ref er ence to your ar ti cle Sui cide at tack ers tar get US em bassy in Tu nis (March 6): it is a re - lief to read that there were no ca su al ties, aside from the two at tack ers them selves. I also hope the five po lice of fi cers who were in jured are on the path to re cov ery. Tu nisia has had its share of ter ror at tacks in re cent times, which is trou bling. But as ex perts have pointed out, the gov ern ment has been largely suc cess ful in keep ing the coun try safe. There is a re al i - sa tion that poverty is one of the key rea sons for many young Tu nisians go ing astray and join ing ex - trem ist or gan i sa tions. For eco nomic growth, there needs to be po lit i cal sta bil ity and it is good to read about the progress be ing made on that front, through the pres i den tial elec tions in Oc to ber, as well as the end to the long-pro tracted par lia men tary process to ap point a cabi net last month.
