Life Is Beautiful – 86
Vasanthi smiled and replied, “You can still call me Mummy. And you are my Kaadhambari, my friend’s precious gift.”
Anusha Madam was delighted to hear Vasanthi’s affectionate words. She walked towards Vasanthi, hugged her warmly, and whispered, “You are mine too.”
Kaadhambari came close to Vasanthi and said, “Thank you. I love you,” and hugged her affectionately.
Atkinson and his wife Elizabeth were delighted to witness this beautiful moment. The genuine bond that had developed over the past 23 years was clearly visible to everyone. It was a touching moment filled with love, affection, and togetherness.
After spending some time with them, Atkinson and Elizabeth departed, promising to attend the marriage ceremony the next day.
Ram said, “I am really excited and happy to see the beautiful bonding that has developed over all these years. It is truly wonderful.”
After that, Vasanthi asked Ram to have some tea and then go with her. She took him around the house and showed him all the rooms, explaining how Anusha Madam had maintained the house with great care and affection.
While showing him around, Vasanthi slowly whispered with a smile, “In this dress, you look even more handsome. I feel really blessed that tomorrow I will be your Vasanthi.”
Ram smiled and replied, “That is true. I too feel blessed that my beautiful Vasanthi will be mine from tomorrow. You look very beautiful in this dress.”
Vasanthi smiled, lowered her eyes, and felt shy.
After having tea at around 4 p.m., Ram left with Kaadhambari for his guest house, leaving Vasanthi at home.
While they were on their way, Kaadhambari said, “I never dreamed that you would become so close to my life. I never imagined that one day our relationship would become so special.”
Ram smiled and replied, “Until I met Vasanthi again, I never knew that my life would take such a beautiful turn. And, above all, you became the cementing factor who brought Vasanthi and me together. I will always remember that, Kaadhambari.”
Kaadhambari smiled affectionately, touched by Ram’s words.

Tribute 946.
Tribute to Late Legend B. V. Karanth – 946
Today, I would like to pay my heartfelt tribute to the late stalwart B. V. Karanth, a legendary personality known for his versatile contributions to Indian theatre and cinema, particularly in Kannada and Hindi.
B. V. Karanth was a visionary who made an extraordinary contribution to the world of Indian stagecraft, direction, music, and films. His remarkable work earned him several prestigious awards and recognitions during his lifetime. Even decades later, he continues to be remembered as an iconic figure whose influence remains deeply rooted in Indian theatre and the Kannada film industry, popularly known as Sandalwood.
His legacy continues through the many talented artistes and disciples who were inspired and guided by his creative vision, including the renowned filmmaker T. S. Nagabharana and several others.
I have had the opportunity to watch a few of B. V. Karanth’s films, although I am unable to recall all their titles now. Nevertheless, his distinctive style, creativity, and contribution have left an indelible mark on Indian performing arts.
If I am right, this week Bengaluru is commemorating the great maestro with a special programme and a biopic on his life and contributions, under the able direction of legendary filmmaker and his close associate T. S. Nagabharana. Such an initiative is a wonderful way to remember and celebrate the life and legacy of a true pioneer.
I wish my good friend T. S. Nagabharana and the entire team every success in presenting this memorable tribute in a grand and meaningful manner.
Long live the legacy of B. V. Karanth!

Life Is Beautiful – 85
Before lunch began, Anusha Madam stood up and said, “Sorry, everyone. Before we start our lunch, I would like to announce something very important.
“After 26 years, two old friends, Ram and Vasanthi, have reunited. From today onwards, they are husband and wife. Tomorrow, we are going to conduct their marriage ceremony here in the presence of selected friends and guests and obtain the necessary marriage certificate.
“Since Vasanthi may be travelling to the US soon, her passport needs to be updated with Ram’s name as her spouse. I will personally take care of the necessary formalities with the Consulate on Monday and get it done.
“I have requested Vasanthi, whom I have always treated like my own daughter after the demise of my daughter, to accept this marriage. Today, I am arranging this marriage with only one wish—that both Ram and Vasanthi should begin a beautiful new life filled with peace, happiness and mutual understanding.”
Everyone applauded warmly.
The announcement was followed by a delicious lunch prepared with great affection by Vasanthi. There were several varieties of dishes, along with Ram’s favourite sweets—Mysore Pak and Halwa. Everyone enjoyed the meal and appreciated Vasanthi’s cooking.
After lunch, at the scheduled time, Anusha Madam sat comfortably in a chair while Kaadhambari got ready to record the proceedings. The video conference began, and Ram’s friends and well-wishers from different places joined the meeting.
Anusha Madam briefly explained what had happened during the past few days. She especially admired Ram for having remained silent about his past and for never revealing his personal life to anyone.
She then spoke about Vasanthi.
“Vasanthi, in her own quiet way, concentrated on bringing up the cute little Kaadhambari with confidence and dignity. She never went searching for her Ram. She always had a deep confidence that, one day, she would meet him again. And today, that has happened.
“Tomorrow, they are going to get married in a proper religious ceremony here. Ram will be travelling to India on Monday, and after a few days, Vasanthi will accompany him to Mysore.
“I am extremely happy to see all of you here. I am also happy to see Ram’s little friend Tommy among us.
“Youngsters, you may wish the couple. Elders, please bless Ram and Vasanthi and pray that they have a peaceful and happy life together.”
The meeting continued with warm wishes and blessings from their friends and well-wishers.
After the meeting ended, Atkinson applauded Ram and said that he was deeply impressed by Ram’s character. He admired the fact that Ram had never opened up to anyone about his past and had carried his personal memories silently for so many years.
Kaadhambari, overwhelmed with emotion, walked towards Vasanthi and hugged her.
“Mummy… I am sorry. From now on, I don't think I can call you only ‘Mummy’…”
The reply that came from Vasanthi stunned not only Kaadhambari but everyone around them.

Ram picked up the phone.
Ram: “Hello, who is this?”
Caller: “I am Suganthi speaking from the US. I am a good friend of Sophia. Good morning, Mr. Ram. Today, I am making arrangements for your visa and ticket to Denver for our Association’s 10th Anniversary function, where you will be our guest speaker.
“I just forgot to tell Sophia one important thing. You can bring your wife along with you. Except for the airfare, we will provide all the other arrangements for her. Please confirm whether she will be accompanying you and send me her passport details to the email ID I have forwarded to you. We need the details within two days.
“Sorry for the disturbance, Mr. Ram. We will meet you soon. Bye.”
She ended the call.
Ram immediately explained to everyone the latest news from the US. Everyone was happy, and Kaadhambari’s grandmother was especially delighted.
Grandmother smiled and said, “This is indeed a good beginning for our meeting today.”
Ram then checked his list and informed all his friends about the video conference scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. He was keen to ensure that everyone attended the important meeting.
Atkinson looked at Ram and said with a smile,
Atkinson: “Ram, I told you. Good things are going to happen.”
Ram simply smiled.
After that, Grandmother warmly invited everyone to join the delicious lunch. She wanted the occasion to be special—a celebration of two wonderful people who had been reunited after 26 years, right here in the United Arab Emirates.
Everyone settled into their seats around the dining table.
Ram and Vasanthy sat beside each other. They looked at one another and smiled.
For both of them, the moment was filled with memories, emotions, and the happiness of being together again after so many years.

Why need Brics
I write in reference to Vanessa Ghanem’s article Brics summit ends with push for global peace and greater co-operation (September 13): the recent summit in New Delhi and India’s emphasis on strengthening the bloc’s influence in global affairs are both significant and truly needed at this hour. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the importance of greater co-operation and a stronger voice for the Global South in shaping global affairs. At a time when conflicts, tensions and humanitarian crises are affecting different parts of the world, the need for dialogue, diplomacy and international co-operation has never been greater. The continuing crisis in the Middle East is a particularly serious concern, and the Brics leaders’ call for maximum restraint and peaceful efforts is an important message. India’s insistence on strengthening Brics as a platform for co-operation, rather than confrontation, deserves attention. A stronger and more representative voice for developing countries can contribute to greater understanding, solidarity and balanced international co-operation. The world needs more dialogue and less division. At this critical juncture, collective efforts towards global peace, stability and human solidarity are more than desirable. They are essential. – K Ragavan, Bengaluru

Amazing experience.
An Amazing Interview and a Touching Life Experience
The amazing interview and personal experiences shared by my good friend Lakshmi Narasimhan in the Anusha Jayanthi Mahaperiyava programme on Thennavan Media, with anchor Sivakumar, were truly inspiring.
His childhood memories, especially his natural interest and attachment to driving, were narrated beautifully. His experiences with Mahaperiyava during his childhood, receiving His prasadam and blessings, and the touching story of how Mahaperiyava gave him the name Lakshmi Narasimhan were deeply moving.
The story of how his name was changed and how his life subsequently took a different direction was equally touching. I particularly enjoyed his nostalgic remembrance of his former BOAC days. His recollection of his grandmother's special dish being distributed as prasadam was another beautiful and emotional memory.
His experiences of Anusha Jayanthi, along with the many interesting incidents from his day-to-day life, made the programme engaging and memorable. His deep devotion, faith, and attachment to Mahaperiyava were truly admirable.
I feel blessed to have watched this wonderful programme and to have experienced these beautiful memories through my dear friend's narration. My sincere thanks to my friend Lakshmi Narasimhan for sharing such a personal and inspiring journey.
Anchor Sivakumar's warm and meaningful interaction added further value to the programme.
My heartfelt blessings to my dear friend Lakshmi Narasimhan for many more calm, peaceful, healthy, and happy years ahead, together with his wife and daughter.
With warm regards,

Life Is Beautiful – 81
The reply from his beautiful Vasanthy was connected to the film Sumaithangi.
Vasanthy continued:
“Ram, since our relationship is so closely connected with this beautiful film, my late friend Vasanthi brought the cassette to me and asked me to watch it. I watched the film, but my happiness soon turned into deep sorrow because of the shocking news of her accident.
“I could see her taking her last breath in our house here. I can never forget what she told me in those final moments. With great difficulty, she slowly said, ‘Vasanthy, I wish that you will reunite with Ram one day. And I have one more request. Kaadhambari should be settled in life. Even if you reunite with your Ram before that, please take Kaadhambari with you and take care of her.’
“I promised her that I would keep my word. Until this day, I have kept that promise.”
Ram was deeply moved.
“Really, your friend was a great person. She made you happy that day by giving you the opportunity to watch our favourite film. I am also deeply saddened by her passing.
“Grandmother knows everything that happened until now. She specifically asked me not to tell Kaadhambari because she has some plans and wants to reveal everything on an appropriate occasion.
“I still remember that day. My eyes were filled with tears after watching the film with you, Ram. I prayed that the ending of the film should never happen to us.”
Ram replied gently:
“Yes, my beautiful Vasanthy, I remember telling you that. It is only a film, and the events shown in a film are part of a story. I have always been confident that nothing like that would happen to us. Even if circumstances separate us, I believe that we will certainly reunite one day.”
Vasanthy replied:
“True, dear Ram. That day, Vasanthi saved my life by giving me the cassette and asking me to watch the film. At the same time, I somehow felt that something important was going to change in my life.
“Kaadhambari was entrusted to me, and I had to accept that responsibility because of my good friend Vasanthi. I was confident that you were my real Ram, that you would wait for me—and you have proved it.”
Ram said:
“The most astonishing part is that your daughter—or rather, the girl whom you have cared for as your daughter, Kaadhambari—was the one who brought me here. It shows how mysterious and wonderful life can be. God has guided both of us through all these years. We have both experienced how beautiful life can be.”
Vasanthy continued:
“The day Vasanthi made me stay in that house was, in a way, an indication of my eventual reunion with you and of Kaadhambari’s future.
“I happily promised her that I would fulfil my commitment. I know that one day, if we meet and I tell Kaadhambari everything, she will understand why I kept this promise.”
Ram replied:
“Absolutely, Vasanthy. I truly appreciate the promise you made to your friend. From the beginning, both of us have believed in the beauty of life. Our relationship was built on love, trust, understanding and affection, without being driven by material desires or a physical relationship. To me, that has always felt like a precious gift from God.”
Vasanthy was very happy to share her past with Ram.
“I am so happy that I could finally explain everything about my past to you. And I am even happier to hear your voice again. Even after all these years, it is the same familiar and loving voice of my dear Ram.
“Tomorrow, Grandmother will invite you for lunch on Saturday. That day, you will see many surprises.”
“Bye for now, my loving Ram. Take care.”
With those words, Vasanthy ended the call.
Ram sat quietly for a while, wondering what surprises were waiting for him on Saturday. A gentle smile came to his face as he happily reminisced about the beautiful and emotional conversation he had just shared with his beloved Vasanthy.
The past, the present and the future seemed to be coming together in an unexpected way.

Good Interview.
America America 2 – An Interesting Interview with Kannada Pichhar by the Versatile Award Winning Director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar
The interview about America America 2 with Kannada Pichhar was truly interesting and expressed the changes in cinema very well. Your honest and creative views were impressive and deserve appreciation. Your experience with America America 1 and your thoughts on the present concept were explained beautifully through your narration.
Ultimately, one needs a creative mind and an open approach, and your views on this were truly laudable. Cinema is a wonderful blend of different concepts, and every filmmaker should have the freedom to bring his or her creative ideas and presentation to the screen. Change is inevitable, and one should be willing to embrace it.
Your real-life experiences, along with your approach to small stories and stories of different genres without discrepancies, were particularly interesting. The questions asked by the anchor and the Director’s thoughtful replies, especially his conviction that he would never present anything in a negative or inappropriate manner, were admirable.
Authenticity is the ultimate motto for a good presentation. Every department should understand and follow the team leader’s vision and work towards fulfilling that creative vision.
Overall, this was a wonderful interview with the versatile and award-winning director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar. America America 2 will certainly create its own place in the history of Kannada cinema.

Life Is Beautiful – 80
Ram could hardly believe the voice he heard on the phone. It was a voice that had been familiar to him for more than 29 years. It was none other than his beloved Vasanthy.
Ram pinched himself to make sure he was not dreaming.
“Hello, Ram. This is Vasanthy. You will be surprised to hear from me. Over the past few days, Kaadhambari told me about your visit to Dubai. She also showed me the photographs taken at the Cricket Stadium and at the Emirates Restaurant, along with Prasanna. But when I finally saw your face in the photograph, I was completely shocked. You are the same Ram whom I knew all those years ago. That day, I thanked my Goddess for bringing my Ram back to me in this country.”
Ram was overwhelmed with emotion. He could hardly believe that Vasanthy had returned to his life after so many years.
“Vasanthy, this is a great shock as well as a wonderful surprise for me. How did you come back into my life after all these years?”
Vasanthy replied, “Let me narrate everything to you from the beginning. After I left Mysore following my mother’s death, I came to Mahabaleshwar and worked there for a few days. Later, I was sent to the Head Office for training. After completing my training, I returned after two years and was posted back to Mahabaleshwar.
“During my tenure there, I met a colleague who had the same name and initial as mine. We became very close friends. One day, she invited me to stay with her and her mother. She also had a one-year-old daughter named Kaadhambari, who was a very cute little child. Her mother was also staying with them and was doing consultancy work.
“While I was staying with them, I became very close to my friend and her mother. I told them about our friendship and how much I was waiting for the day when we could get married. At the same time, I was completely concentrating on my work. I also sent a letter to your college in Bangalore, but unfortunately, I received no response.”
Ram suddenly remembered something.
“Now I remember. At that time, we had all gone to Singapore along with some of our colleagues. Your letter might have reached the office while I was away and perhaps I never received it.”
Vasanthy continued, “Fate changed everything on a Friday. My friend went out for an inspection, while her mother went to attend a marriage. She asked me to stay at home with little Kaadhambari. Before leaving, she asked me to watch a cassette she had brought especially for me.”
Ram was curious.
“What was the cassette, Vasanthy?”
Vasanthy paused for a moment and asked affectionately,
“My dear Ram, can you guess?”
The moment Ram heard her reply, he was completely shocked.
