Blessings at Her Favourite Temple

Early that morning, Ram received a call from Prasanna’s mother, Kotha.

Kotha: “Good morning, Anna. I am very happy that your sister-in-law, Vasanthi, is arriving today along with Grandma. Prasanna also arrived from Germany last night. This evening at 7 p.m., I have arranged a special pooja at the Venkateswara Temple. You, Sister-in-law, and Anusha Madam must come and receive the blessings of the Lord.

“Murthy Sir and his family, Raj Sir and his family, and Athmarao will also be joining us. We will all meet at the temple this evening.”

With that, she ended the call.

Ram felt extremely happy. After their marriage, Vasanthi was returning to her native place after 27 long years, and on the very day of her arrival, she would have the opportunity to receive the blessings of her favourite God. He felt that God had been very kind to them and that everything was falling into place at the right time.

Ram continued with his usual routine work and spent some time playing with Tommy. A little later, his phone rang again. It was Murthy.

Murthy: “Good morning, Ram. This evening, I will first drop my family at the temple and then come and pick you, Vasanthi, and Grandma. By that time, your people should have arrived there. We can all meet at the temple.”

Ram: “Thank you, Murthy. That will be very convenient.”

After the call, Ram began thinking about how happy Vasanthi would be when she visited her favourite temple on the very day she returned to her native place after 27 years. He felt deeply grateful for the way everything had happened and silently thanked God for bringing Vasanthi back into his life.

He then asked the maid to clean all the rooms thoroughly and prepare the apartment for Vasanthi and Grandma’s arrival.

The apartment was spacious and beautifully maintained, with three elegant bedrooms and a total built-up area of about 2,200 square feet. Ram wanted everything to be neat, comfortable, and welcoming for Vasanthi’s return.

For him, this was not just another day. It was a day filled with happiness, memories, gratitude, and God’s blessings.

அவளுக்குப் பிடித்த கோயிலில் இறைவனின் அருள்

அன்று அதிகாலையில், ராமுக்கு பிரசன்னாவின் தாயார் கோதா தொலைபேசியில் அழைத்தார்.

கோதா: “குட் மார்னிங் அண்ணா.  மன்னி வசந்தி, பாட்டியுடன் இன்று வருகிறார் என்பதில் எனக்கு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி. பிரசன்னாவும் நேற்று இரவு ஜெர்மனியிலிருந்து வந்து சேர்ந்துவிட்டார். இன்று மாலை 7 மணிக்கு வெங்கடேஸ்வரர் கோயிலில் ஒரு சிறப்பு பூஜைக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்திருக்கிறேன். நீங்கள், மன்னி மற்றும் அனுஷா மேடம் மூவரும் அவசியம் கோயிலுக்கு வந்து இறைவனின் அருளைப் பெற வேண்டும்.

“மூர்த்தி சார் மற்றும் அவரது குடும்பத்தினரும், ராஜ் சாரும் அவரது குடும்பத்தினரும், ஆத்மாராவும் வருகிறார்கள். நாம் அனைவரும் இன்று மாலை கோயிலில் சந்திப்போம்.”

என்று கூறிவிட்டு கோதா தொலைபேசி அழைப்பை முடித்தார்.

ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார். திருமணத்திற்குப் பிறகு, 27 நீண்ட ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் வசந்தி தனது சொந்த ஊருக்குத் திரும்பி வருகிறார். அவள் வந்த அதே நாளில், தனக்குப் மிகவும் பிடித்த கடவுளின் கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று இறைவனின் அருளைப் பெறும் வாய்ப்பும் கிடைத்திருப்பதை நினைத்து ராம் மகிழ்ந்தார்.

“இறைவன் நம் மீது மிகவும் கருணையுடன் இருக்கிறார். எல்லாமே சரியான நேரத்தில், சரியான முறையில் நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறது,” என்று ராம் மனதிற்குள் நினைத்தார்.

பின்னர் ராம் தனது வழக்கமான பணிகளைத் தொடர்ந்தார். சிறிது நேரம் டாமியுடன் விளையாடியும் மகிழ்ந்தார்.

சிறிது நேரம் கழித்து மீண்டும் அவரது தொலைபேசி ஒலித்தது. அழைத்தவர் மூர்த்தி.

மூர்த்தி: “குட் மார்னிங் ராம். இன்று மாலை முதலில் எனது குடும்பத்தினரை கோயிலில் இறக்கிவிட்டுவிட்டு, பின்னர் வந்து உங்களையும் வசந்தியையும் பாட்டியையும் அழைத்துச் செல்கிறேன். அதற்குள் உங்கள் குடும்பத்தினரும் அங்கு வந்து சேர்ந்திருப்பார்கள். நாம் அனைவரும் கோயிலில் சந்தித்துக் கொள்ளலாம்.”

ராம்: “நன்றி மூர்த்தி. அது மிகவும் வசதியாக இருக்கும்.”

தொலைபேசி அழைப்பை முடித்த பிறகு, 27 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் தனது சொந்த ஊருக்குத் திரும்பும் அதே நாளில் வசந்தி தனக்குப் பிடித்த கோயிலுக்குச் செல்லும்போது எவ்வளவு மகிழ்ச்சியடைவாள் என்று ராம் நினைத்துப் பார்த்தார்.

எல்லாமே இவ்வளவு அழகாகவும் சரியான முறையிலும் நடந்துகொண்டிருப்பதற்காக ராம் மனதார நன்றியுணர்வு கொண்டார். வசந்தியை மீண்டும் தனது வாழ்க்கைக்குக் கொண்டு வந்த இறைவனுக்கு அவர் மனதிற்குள் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

பின்னர், வசந்தியும் பாட்டியும் வருவதற்குள் அனைத்து அறைகளையும் நன்றாகச் சுத்தம் செய்து, வீட்டைத் தயாராக வைத்திருக்கும்படி பணிப்பெண்ணிடம் ராம் கூறினார்.

அந்த அபார்ட்மென்ட் விசாலமாகவும் அழகாகவும் பராமரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. மூன்று நேர்த்தியான படுக்கையறைகளுடன், மொத்தம் சுமார் 2,200 சதுர அடி பரப்பளவு கொண்டதாக இருந்தது. வசந்தி மற்றும் பாட்டியின் வருகை வசதியாகவும் இனிமையாகவும் அமைய வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக, அனைத்தும் சுத்தமாகவும், நேர்த்தியாகவும், வரவேற்புடன் இருப்பதை ராம் உறுதி செய்ய விரும்பினார்.

ராமைப் பொறுத்தவரை, அது மற்றொரு சாதாரண நாள் அல்ல.

Everything Falling Into Place

That evening, Ram went for his usual walk in the park. On the way, he met Ramanujam, the owner of the bakery he often visited. Ramanujam greeted him warmly and congratulated him on his marriage.

Ramanujam: “Sir, I came to know about your marriage through our friend Murthy. I was extremely happy to hear the news. My heartfelt congratulations to you.”

Ram: “Thank you very much, Sir. In fact, I wanted to call you this evening. I am hosting a party the day after tomorrow at Dasaprakash Paradise. Please come with your family at 6:00 p.m. I would be very happy to have you all there.”

Ramanujam: “Certainly, Sir. I will definitely be there with my wife.”

After their conversation, Ram returned home. As soon as he entered, his phone started ringing. It was Vasanthi.

Vasanthi: “Hello, Ram. We have packed everything. Kaadhambari has some official work and could not come with us. So, tomorrow, we will come to Mysore by taxi ourselves. You take some rest. We will manage everything.”

Ram: “No problem at all. Take your time and travel safely.”

Vasanthi: “We will manage. See you tomorrow.”

Ram: “Okay. Take care. See you tomorrow.”

They ended the call.

A few moments later, Ram received another call. This time, it was from Ranjitha.

Ranjitha: “Hello, Blogger Sir. A friend of mine told me that her mother is coming to Mysore tomorrow on the afternoon flight, which is scheduled to arrive at 1:00 p.m. I called you because I have some work in Hebbal, near Bangalore Airport. Since I will already be in that area, I thought I could pick them up from the airport. My Chief also asked me to help them.”

Ram was delighted to hear this.

Ram: “Why should you take the trouble, Ranjitha?”

Ranjitha: “There is no trouble at all, Sir. I have already spoken to Kaadhambari. I will pick them up at the airport and make sure they reach Mysore safely. Please don't worry.”

Ram: “Thank you so much, Ranjitha. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.”

After ending the call, Ram sat quietly for a while. He wondered at the way everything was falling into place, one event after another, without any difficulty.

The arrival of Vasanthi, Kaadhambari’s arrangements, the party with his friends, and now Ranjitha’s unexpected help—all these things seemed to be happening naturally and at the right time.

Ram smiled to himself and thought, “How wonderfully everything is happening. I never planned all these things, yet everything seems to be moving smoothly. God has truly blessed me with good people at every step of my journey.”

With a grateful heart, Ram looked forward to the days ahead, feeling that life was indeed beautiful

எல்லாமே சரியான முறையில் அமைந்து கொண்டிருந்தது

அன்று மாலை, ராம் வழக்கம்போல் பூங்காவிற்குச் சென்று நடைப்பயிற்சி மேற்கொண்டார். அப்போது, அவர் அடிக்கடி சென்று கொண்டிருந்த பேக்கரியின் உரிமையாளர் ராமானுஜத்தைச் சந்தித்தார். ராமானுஜம் அவரை அன்புடன் வரவேற்று, திருமணத்திற்காக வாழ்த்துத் தெரிவித்தார்.

ராமானுஜம்:
“சார், நமது நண்பர் மூர்த்தி மூலம் உங்கள் திருமணத்தைப் பற்றி தெரிந்து கொண்டேன். அந்தச் செய்தியைக் கேட்டு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்தேன். எனது மனமார்ந்த திருமண வாழ்த்துகள்.”

ராம்:
“மிக்க நன்றி, சார். உண்மையில், இன்று மாலையே உங்களைத் தொலைபேசியில் அழைக்க வேண்டும் என்று நினைத்திருந்தேன். நாளை மறுநாள் தசபிரகாஷ் பாரடைஸில் எனது நண்பர்களுக்காக ஒரு விருந்து ஏற்பாடு செய்திருக்கிறேன். மாலை 6 மணிக்கு குடும்பத்துடன் அவசியம் வாருங்கள். நீங்கள் அனைவரும் வருவது எனக்கு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கும்.”

ராமானுஜம்:
“நிச்சயமாக, சார். நான் என் மனைவியுடன் கண்டிப்பாக வருகிறேன்.”

அவர்களுடைய உரையாடல் முடிந்ததும், ராம் வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பினார். அவர் வீட்டிற்குள் நுழைந்ததும், அவரது தொலைபேசி ஒலித்தது. அழைத்தது வசந்தி.

வசந்தி:
“ஹலோ, ராம். நாங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் பேக் செய்து விட்டோம். காதம்பரிக்கு சில அலுவலக வேலைகள் இருந்ததால், அவளால் எங்களுடன் வர முடியவில்லை. எனவே, நாங்கள் நாளை மதியம் விமானத்தில் வந்து, விமான நிலையத்திலிருந்து டாக்ஸியில் மைசூருக்கு வருகிறோம். நீங்கள் சிறிது ஓய்வு எடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். மீதியையெல்லாம் நாங்கள் பார்த்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.”

ராம்:
“பரவாயில்லை. நீங்கள் நிதானமாக வந்து, பாதுகாப்பாகப் பயணம் செய்யுங்கள்.”

வசந்தி:
“நாங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் பார்த்துக் கொள்கிறோம். நாளை சந்திப்போம்.”

ராம்:
“சரி. பார்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நாளை சந்திப்போம்.”

அவர்கள் தொலைபேசி அழைப்பை முடித்துக் கொண்டனர்.

சில நிமிடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு, ராமுக்கு மீண்டும் ஒரு தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு வந்தது. இந்த முறை அழைத்தது ரஞ்சிதா.

ரஞ்சிதா:
“ஹலோ, பிளாக்கர் சார். எனது நண்பர் ஒருவர், அவருடைய அம்மா நாளை மதியம் விமானத்தில் வருவதாகவும், அந்த விமானம் மதியம் 1 மணிக்கு பெங்களூரு விமான நிலையத்தை வந்தடையும் என்றும் கூறினார். எனக்கு பெங்களூரு விமான நிலையத்திற்கு அருகிலுள்ள ஹெப்பாளில் சில வேலைகள் இருக்கின்றன. நான் ஏற்கனவே அந்தப் பகுதியில் இருப்பதால், விமான நிலையத்திற்குச் சென்று அவர்களை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு வரலாம் என்று நினைத்தேன். அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்யும்படி எனது சீஃப்பும் என்னிடம் கூறியுள்ளார்.”

இதைக் கேட்ட ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார்.

ராம்:
“ரஞ்சிதா, நீங்கள் ஏன் இவ்வளவு சிரமம் எடுத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்?”

ரஞ்சிதா:
“இதில் எந்தச் சிரமமும் இல்லை, சார். நான் ஏற்கனவே காதம்பரியிடம் பேசி விட்டேன். விமான நிலையத்திற்குச் சென்று அவர்களை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு வந்து, அவர்கள் பாதுகாப்பாக மைசூரைச் சென்றடைய ஏற்பாடு செய்கிறேன். நீங்கள் கவலைப்பட வேண்டாம்.”

ராம்:
“மிக்க நன்றி, ரஞ்சிதா. உங்கள் அக்கறைக்கும் உதவிக்கும் நான் மிகவும் நன்றியுள்ளவனாக இருக்கிறேன்.”

அழைப்பை முடித்த பிறகு, ராம் சிறிது நேரம் அமைதியாக அமர்ந்திருந்தார். ஒவ்வொரு நிகழ்வும் ஒன்றன்பின் ஒன்றாக எந்தவித சிரமமும் இல்லாமல், எவ்வாறு இயல்பாகச் சரியான முறையில் அமைந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது என்பதை அவர் எண்ணிப் பார்த்தார்.

வசந்தியின் வருகை, காதம்பரியின் ஏற்பாடுகள், நண்பர்களுடன் நடைபெறவிருந்த விருந்து, இப்போது எதிர்பாராத நேரத்தில் ரஞ்சிதா முன்வந்து செய்யும் உதவி—இவை அனைத்தும் இயல்பாகவும் சரியான நேரத்திலும் நடைபெறுவது போல் ராமுக்குத் தோன்றியது.

ராம் தனக்குள் புன்னகைத்துக் கொண்டு நினைத்தார்:

“எவ்வளவு அற்புதமாக எல்லாமே நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது! இவற்றில் எதையும் நான் திட்டமிடவில்லை. ஆனால், அனைத்தும் எந்தத் தடையும் இல்லாமல் சீராக நடைபெறுகின்றன. எனது வாழ்க்கைப் பயணத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு கட்டத்திலும் நல்ல மனிதர்களை எனக்கு அருளியிருக்கிறார் இறைவன்.”

நன்றியுணர்வுடன், வரவிருக்கும் நாட்களை ராம் எதிர்நோக்கினார். உண்மையிலேயே, வாழ்க்கை அழகானதுதான் என்று அவரது மனம் உணர்ந்தது.

Days passed, and before Ram realised it, ten days had gone by.

In the meantime, with the coordination of Kaadhambari, Ranjitha, and Sophia, Ram received his U.S. visa and the ticket to Denver from Suganthi. Suganthi had also arranged the necessary arrangements for Vasanthi to accompany him.

As promised, Sulaiman had sent his sponsorship for Vasanthi. Another pleasant development was that Suganthi recommended Ram to her association, which arranged a Business Class ticket for him. Sulaiman also booked Vasanthi’s ticket.

Everything seemed to be falling into place in a way Ram had never expected.

In just two days, Vasanthi and Anusha Madam were due to arrive in Mysore. The very next day, Ram decided to arrange a get-together at Dasaprakash Paradise for twenty-five close friends, along with their family members.

Looking back at all these developments, Ram felt that yet another miracle had taken place in his life. He sat quietly, reminiscing about everything that had happened.

Just then, his thoughts were interrupted by a phone call.

It was Sophia calling from Denver.

Sophia: “Professor Sir, I hope you have completed all the formalities required to enter our city in a few days for the celebration meeting. I am eagerly looking forward to listening to your speech, especially after your memorable OO1 Academy function.”

Ram: “Thank you so much, Sophia. You still remember me!”

Sophia: “How can I forget a versatile person with such a strong academic background? My husband is also very eager to meet you on the day of the celebration. Please convey our greetings to Mrs. Vasanthi Ram. I will be very happy to meet her here as well.”

Ram: “You seem to know everything, Sophia!”

Sophia: “That is because of my association with Ranjitha and Kaadhambari. They have kept me informed about all the developments. Take care, Professor Sir. We will meet very soon.”

After ending the call, Ram sat for a moment, wondering how this wonderful connection with Sophia had happened.

Ever since I became involved with a few social media platforms and got acquainted with various groups and their members, I have developed a great admiration for the way these groups function and interact. Groups of different sizes bring together people from diverse backgrounds, and their active participation and exchange of ideas are truly commendable.

My main intention in being part of these platforms is to learn about various subjects and perspectives, particularly because I have a keen interest in blogging, storytelling, and the entertainment field. Over the past 16 years, I have had the opportunity to connect with several journalists, writers, and authors from different backgrounds. These interactions have enriched my knowledge and given me the opportunity to understand different viewpoints and experiences.

Both men and women writers are contributing wonderfully by writing on a wide range of subjects, especially issues related to everyday life. Many of their writings highlight social concerns, personal experiences, challenges, and solutions, while also creating awareness and confidence among readers.

I particularly admire several women writers for the way they observe everyday life and present their thoughts with sensitivity, clarity, and confidence. Their writings often provide meaningful perspectives on family, society, relationships, and the challenges faced in daily life.

It is also encouraging to see editors from various multinational publications participating in different programmes and sharing valuable thoughts and positive messages with society. Their involvement demonstrates how communication and knowledge-sharing can reach people across geographical boundaries.

Today, the digital world is playing a vital role in connecting people, sharing information, and creating opportunities to learn. Social media platforms have made it possible for individuals to interact with people from different professions, cultures, and parts of the world.

However, the responsibility ultimately lies with each individual to use these platforms wisely. By choosing reliable information, learning from meaningful discussions, respecting different opinions, and avoiding unnecessary negativity, we can use the digital world to enrich our knowledge and contribute positively to society.

Proud of His Friend

Ram picked up the phone and was pleasantly surprised to hear the voice of Investigation Chief OO1.

OO1: “Good evening, Mr. Ram. Atkinson called me and narrated all your latest developments. Your marriage, which you had planned decades ago, finally taking place is truly a blessing from God. It also reflects your nature—you never expected anything in return from anyone.

“I am extremely proud of my friend. Atkinson also told me about the new project that has been entrusted to you, which you will be leading along with Kaadhambari, your daughter in every sense. I am very happy to hear about your successful visit to the Middle East.

“Let me congratulate you once again. When your better half arrives here for her US visit, we must all have a party together. Take care. My better half also joins me in congratulating you.

“We both compliment you on your choice. You and Vasanthi are truly an ideal couple. Bye for now.”

Ram was deeply delighted by the wishes of the amazing Investigation Chief. The respect and affection OO1 showed towards him touched his heart.

Everyone around him listened to the conversation and told Ram, “You are truly fortunate to have the association of OO1. We are all proud to have your friendship and association.”

After that, Ram took some rest and spent some happy moments playing with his little friend, Tommy.

That night, Murthy  invited Ram to join him for dinner at his  house. Raj left with great happiness, delighted that his dear friend had finally returned home after his memorable journey abroad.

Ram enjoyed a delicious dinner with his favourite milagu rasam, followed by a tasty dessert. After dinner, he returned home.

Tommy had settled comfortably in his old place and happily ate his usual night meal.

A few minutes later, Ram’s phone rang again.

This time, it was his better half, Vasanthi.

Vasanthi: “Ram, have you reached safely? Did you meet all your friends?”

Hearing her sweet and affectionate voice, Ram felt extremely happy.

Ram: “Yes, Vasanthi. I reached safely. I distributed all the sweets to our friends, and everyone appreciated the choice I made decades ago.”

Vasanthi smiled.

Vasanthi: “Here too, my friends and Grandma’s friends have been telling me exactly the same thing.”

Both of them smiled, feeling the warmth of their long-awaited reunion.

Vasanthi: “Take care and sleep well. I’ll call you tomorrow.”

Ram: “Good night, Vasanthi. Bye for now.”

She ended the call, and Ram too went to sleep almost immediately, exhausted from the day’s travel and overwhelmed by the happiness of being back home.

தன் நண்பரைப் பற்றி பெருமிதம் கொண்ட OO1

ராம் தொலைபேசியை எடுத்தார். மறுமுனையில் புலனாய்வுத் துறைத் தலைவர் OO1-ன் குரலைக் கேட்டதும் அவர் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியும் ஆச்சரியமும் அடைந்தார்.

OO1: “மாலை வணக்கம், திரு. ராம். அட்கின்சன் என்னைத் தொடர்புகொண்டு, உங்களுடைய சமீபத்திய நிகழ்வுகள் அனைத்தையும் விரிவாகச் சொன்னார். பல தசாப்தங்களுக்கு முன்பு நீங்கள் திட்டமிட்டிருந்த உங்கள் திருமணம் இப்போது நிறைவேறியது உண்மையிலேயே இறைவனின் ஆசீர்வாதம். அதே நேரத்தில், யாரிடமிருந்தும் எதையும் எதிர்பார்க்காத உங்கள் உயர்ந்த குணத்தையும் இது வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது.

“உங்கள் தேர்வை நாங்கள் இருவரும் மனதாரப் பாராட்டுகிறோம். நீங்களும் வசந்தியும் உண்மையிலேயே ஒரு சிறந்த தம்பதியர். இப்போதைக்கு விடைபெறுகிறேன்.”

அற்புதமான புலனாய்வுத் துறைத் தலைவர் OO1-ன் அன்பான வாழ்த்துகளைக் கேட்ட ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார். OO1 அவரிடம் காட்டிய மரியாதையும் அன்பும் அவரது இதயத்தைத் தொட்டது.

அருகில் இருந்த அனைவரும் அந்த உரையாடலைக் கேட்டுவிட்டு ராமிடம், “OO1 போன்ற ஒரு உயர்ந்த நண்பரின் நட்பு உங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்திருப்பது உண்மையிலேயே உங்கள் அதிர்ஷ்டம். உங்கள் நட்பும் அன்பான தொடர்பும் எங்களுக்கும் பெருமை அளிக்கிறது,” என்றனர்.

அதன்பிறகு ராம் சிறிது நேரம் ஓய்வெடுத்தார். தனது செல்ல நண்பனான டாமியுடன் விளையாடி மகிழ்ச்சியான சில தருணங்களையும் கழித்தார்.

அன்றிரவு, மூர்த்தி ராமைத் தனது வீட்டிற்கு இரவு உணவிற்கு வருமாறு அழைத்தார். தனது அன்பு நண்பர் நீண்ட நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு, வெளிநாட்டின் மறக்க முடியாத பயணத்தை முடித்துக்கொண்டு வீடு திரும்பியிருப்பதில் ராஜ் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார்.

ராம் தனது விருப்பமான மிளகு ரசத்துடன் சுவையான இரவு உணவை ரசித்தார். அதைத் தொடர்ந்து சுவையான இனிப்பும் பரிமாறப்பட்டது. இரவு உணவு முடிந்ததும் அவர் தனது வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பினார்.

டாமி தனது பழைய இடத்தில் வசதியாகப் படுத்துக்கொண்டு, வழக்கம்போல தனது இரவு உணவை மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் சாப்பிட்டது.

சில நிமிடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு, ராமின் தொலைபேசி மீண்டும் ஒலித்தது.

இந்த முறை அழைத்தது அவரது வாழ்க்கைத் துணையான வசந்தி.

வசந்தி: “ராம், பத்திரமாக வீட்டுக்கு வந்து சேர்ந்துவிட்டீர்களா? உங்கள் நண்பர்கள் அனைவரையும் சந்தித்தீர்களா?”

அவளுடைய இனிமையானதும் அன்பு நிறைந்ததுமான குரலைக் கேட்ட ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார்.

ராம்: “ஆம், வசந்தி. நான் பத்திரமாக வந்து சேர்ந்துவிட்டேன். நம்முடைய நண்பர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் இனிப்புகளை வழங்கினேன். பல தசாப்தங்களுக்கு முன்பு நான் செய்த அந்தத் தேர்வை அனைவரும் பாராட்டினார்கள்.”

வசந்தி புன்னகைத்தாள்.

வசந்தி: “இங்கும் அதேதான். என்னுடைய நண்பர்களும், பாட்டியின் நண்பர்களும் இதையே என்னிடம் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.”

நீண்ட காலத்திற்குப் பிறகு மீண்டும் இணைந்த தங்கள் உறவின் அன்பையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் உணர்ந்தபடி இருவரும் புன்னகைத்தனர்.

வசந்தி: “உங்களைப் பார்த்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். நன்றாகத் தூங்குங்கள். நாளை உங்களை அழைக்கிறேன்.”

ராம்: “குட் நைட், வசந்தி. இப்போதைக்கு விடைபெறுகிறேன்.”

வசந்தி தொலைபேசி அழைப்பை முடித்தாள். அன்றைய பயணத்தின் களைப்பும், மீண்டும் தனது இல்லத்திற்குத் திரும்பிய மகிழ்ச்சியும் ராமை ஆட்கொண்டிருந்ததால், அவரும் சில நிமிடங்களிலேயே உறங்கிவிட்டார்.

A Warm Welcome in Bangalore

After a four-hour journey, during which he enjoyed a good lunch and received a thoughtful gift from the travel staff, Ram finally reached Bangalore International Airport. He had always admired the airport for the way it was designed, constructed, and maintained.

After spending about half an hour at the airport without any hassle, Ram collected his luggage and came out. At the entrance gate, he saw Raj waving his hands and warmly greeting him.

Raj: “Ram, exactly one month has passed. Murthy and I missed you very much. But we are extremely happy that you have brought back so many wonderful and unexpected pieces of good news.”

Ram: “That’s true, Raj. I never expected this trip to turn out this way. The miracle of my reunion with Vasanthi was something I had thought would never happen. I had believed for decades that she had passed away, and I had not told anyone about it until just two days ago.”

Both of them slowly walked towards Raj’s car.

While driving, Ram asked, “Raj, have you had your lunch? If not, we can stop at a nearby hotel. I have already had my lunch on the flight.”

Raj: “I had my lunch, Ram. I knew you would have eaten during the flight.”

Ram then asked about Murthy, his family, Raj’s family, and Athmarao and Prasanna’s mother.

Raj: “Everyone is fine. Tomy is especially happy with Nirmala’s care. She has taken very good care of him.”

Ram: “That was a great help to me, Raj. I will never forget it.”

On the way, Raj stopped at Maddur for tea. After having tea together, they resumed their journey.

Ram looked out of the car window and enjoyed the beautiful scenery on both sides of the road.

Ram: “Karnataka has truly been blessed by nature. The greenery, beautiful landscapes, and scenic places are wonderful.”

Raj: “That’s true, Ram.”

After another one and a half hours, Raj reached Ram’s apartment. It was around 6 p.m., and Murthy’s family were already waiting eagerly for Ram’s arrival, along with Tomy.

Seeing his beloved boss, Tomy jumped with joy and hugged Ram. Ram affectionately patted Tomy and welcomed him.

Ram then gave sweets to everyone. He also handed a packet of sweets to Raj.

Ram: “Raj, while you are on your way, please give these sweets to Prasanna’s mother and Athmarao’s family as well.”

Raj: “Certainly, Ram. It is my pleasure.”

Ram: “My wife, Vasanthi, specifically asked me to give these sweets to our dear friends.”

Aarti: “Thank you, Anna. Murthy and I really appreciate your choice. Even decades ago, you made a wonderful choice in choosing such a good life partner.”

Murthy: “Yes, Ram. The other day, Raj’s wife also called us and spoke about Vasanthi. Your choice was indeed wonderful. She is very beautiful, graceful, and kind-hearted.”

Ram thanked them all with a smile.

வாழ்க்கை அழகானது – 91

பெங்களூரில் அன்பான வரவேற்பு

நான்கு மணி நேரப் பயணத்திற்குப் பிறகு, பயணத்தின்போது நல்ல மதிய உணவைச் சாப்பிட்டு, பயண ஊழியர்களிடமிருந்து அன்பான பரிசொன்றையும் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு, இறுதியாக ராம் பெங்களூரு சர்வதேச விமான நிலையத்தை வந்தடைந்தார். அந்த விமான நிலையம் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட விதமும், கட்டப்பட்ட விதமும், சிறப்பாகப் பராமரிக்கப்படும் விதமும் அவருக்கு எப்போதுமே மிகவும் பிடிக்கும்.

விமான நிலையத்தில் சுமார் அரை மணி நேரம் எந்தவித சிரமமும் இல்லாமல் இருந்த பின்னர், ராம் தனது உடைமைகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு வெளியே வந்தார். நுழைவாயிலில் ராஜ் கைகளை அசைத்தபடி அவரை அன்புடன் வரவேற்றுக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

ராஜ்: “ராம், சரியாக ஒரு மாதம் ஆகிவிட்டது. மூர்த்தியும் நானும் உங்களை மிகவும் மிஸ் செய்தோம். ஆனால், நீங்கள் இத்தனை அற்புதமானதும் எதிர்பாராததுமான நல்ல செய்திகளுடன் திரும்பி வந்திருப்பதில் எங்களுக்கு மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சி.”

ராம்: “அது உண்மைதான், ராஜ். இந்தப் பயணம் இப்படி ஒரு திருப்பத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும் என்று நான் ஒருபோதும் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. வாசந்தியுடன் எனக்கு ஏற்பட்ட மறுமலர்ச்சியான சந்திப்பு ஒரு அதிசயம்தான். அது இனி ஒருபோதும் நடக்காது என்றுதான் நான் நினைத்திருந்தேன். பல தசாப்தங்களாக வசந்தி இறந்துவிட்டதாகவே நம்பிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன். இரண்டு நாட்களுக்கு முன்புவரை அதைப் பற்றி யாரிடமும் நான் சொல்லவில்லை.”

இருவரும் மெதுவாக ராஜின் காரை நோக்கி நடந்துசென்றனர்.

காரில் பயணம் செய்துகொண்டிருக்கும்போது ராம் கேட்டார்:

ராம்: “ராஜ், நீங்கள் மதிய உணவு சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டீர்களா? இல்லையென்றால், வழியில் ஏதாவது நல்ல ஹோட்டலில் நிறுத்தலாம். நான் விமானத்திலேயே மதிய உணவு சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டேன்.”

ராஜ்: “நான் மதிய உணவு சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டேன், ராம். நீங்கள் விமானத்திலேயே சாப்பிட்டிருப்பீர்கள் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியும்.”

பின்னர் ராம், மூர்த்தி, அவரது குடும்பத்தினர், ராஜின் குடும்பத்தினர், ஆத்மாராவ் மற்றும் பிரசன்னாவின் தாயார் ஆகியோரின் நலனைப் பற்றி விசாரித்தார்.

ராஜ்: “எல்லோரும் நன்றாக இருக்கிறார்கள். குறிப்பாக டாமி, நிர்மலாவின் அன்பான பராமரிப்பில் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறான். அவள் அவனை மிகவும் நன்றாக கவனித்துக்கொண்டாள்.”

ராம்: “அது எனக்கு மிகவும் பெரிய உதவியாக இருந்தது, ராஜ். அதை நான் ஒருபோதும் மறக்கமாட்டேன்.”

வழியில் ராஜ், மத்தூரில் காரை நிறுத்தி இருவருக்கும் தேநீர் வாங்கினார். தேநீர் அருந்திய பிறகு, அவர்கள் மீண்டும் பயணத்தைத் தொடர்ந்தனர்.

ராம் காரின் ஜன்னல் வழியாக வெளியே பார்த்துக்கொண்டே, சாலையின் இருபுறங்களிலும் காணப்பட்ட அழகிய இயற்கைக் காட்சிகளை ரசித்தார்.

ராம்: “கர்நாடகத்திற்கு இயற்கை உண்மையிலேயே ஒரு பெரிய வரப்பிரசாதம். பசுமை, அழகிய நிலப்பரப்புகள், இயற்கை எழில் கொஞ்சும் இடங்கள் அனைத்தும் மிகவும் அற்புதமாக இருக்கின்றன.”

ராஜ்: “அது உண்மைதான், ராம்.”

மேலும் ஒன்றரை மணி நேரப் பயணத்திற்குப் பிறகு, ராஜ் ராம் வசிக்கும் அடுக்குமாடிக் குடியிருப்பை அடைந்தார். அப்போது மாலை சுமார் 6 மணி. மூர்த்தியின் குடும்பத்தினர் அனைவரும் ராமின் வருகைக்காக ஆவலுடன் காத்திருந்தனர். அவர்களுடன் டாமியும் இருந்தான்.

தனக்கு மிகவும் பிரியமான முதலாளியைக் கண்டதும், டாமி மகிழ்ச்சியில் துள்ளிக்குதித்து ஓடி வந்து ராமைக் கட்டிப்பிடித்தான். ராம் அன்புடன் டாமியைத் தடவிக் கொடுத்து வரவேற்றார்.

பின்னர் ராம் அனைவருக்கும் இனிப்புகளை வழங்கினார். ராஜிடமும் ஒரு இனிப்புப் பொட்டலத்தைக் கொடுத்தார்.

ராம்: “ராஜ், நீங்கள் வழியில் செல்லும்போது இந்த இனிப்புகளை பிரசன்னாவின் தாயாரிடமும், ஆத்மாராவின் குடும்பத்தினரிடமும் கொடுத்துவிடுங்கள்.”

ராஜ்: “நிச்சயமாக, ராம். அதைச் செய்வதில் எனக்கு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி.”

ராம்: “என் மனைவி வசந்தி, நமது அன்பான நண்பர்களுக்கு இந்த இனிப்புகளைக் கொடுக்கச் சொல்லி குறிப்பாக கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்.”

ஆர்த்தி: “நன்றி, அண்ணா. மூர்த்தியும் நானும் உங்கள் தேர்வை மிகவும் பாராட்டுகிறோம். பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே, இவ்வளவு நல்ல வாழ்க்கைத் துணையைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்ததில் நீங்கள் ஒரு சிறந்த தேர்வு செய்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.”

மூர்த்தி: “ஆம், ராம். அன்று ராஜின் மனைவியும் எங்களைத் தொடர்புகொண்டு வசந்தியைப் பற்றி பேசினார். நீங்கள் செய்த தேர்வு உண்மையிலேயே அற்புதமானது. அவர் மிகவும் அழகானவர், கண்ணியமானவர், அன்பும் கனிவும் நிறைந்த நல்ல உள்ளம் கொண்டவர்.”

அனைவருக்கும் ராம் புன்னகையுடன் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

அப்போது திடீரென்று அவரது தொலைபேசி ஒலிக்கத் தொடங்கியது.

A Memorable Farewell

The next morning, exactly at 6:45 a.m., Vasanthi and Kaadhambari arrived at the guest house. Ram had already packed his bags and was ready to leave. He warmly welcomed them and wished them good morning.

Vasanthi: “Good morning, Ram. I hope you had a good sleep last night.”

Ram: “Yes, Vasanthi. What about you?”

Vasanthi: “I slept well too.”

As they travelled towards the airport, Ram received a call from Anusha Madam.

Anusha Madam: “Ram, have a happy and safe journey. Take care of yourself.”

Atkinson also called and wished him a safe journey. Ali too conveyed his best wishes.

Soon, they reached the Emirates Terminal. Ram checked in his baggage and then came back to where Vasanthi and Kaadhambari were waiting outside.

Ram: “I have checked in my luggage. Everything is fine.”

Vasanthi looked at him affectionately.

Vasanthi: “Take care, Ram. I am happy to know that your journalist friend Raj will be receiving you at the Bangalore airport. The memorable moments of these past few days will remain in my heart until I come to Mysore after fifteen days with Grandma.”

She continued, “Grandma wanted to see me before I leave for the United States on October 12. I hope that, by then, our tickets will be confirmed and the endorsement in my passport will also be completed. Once I receive my passport, I will forward it to you. You can then send it to Suganthi for my visa submission.”

After a few moments, Vasanthi hugged Ram affectionately. Kaadhambari too hugged him.

Kaadhambari: “Bye, Dad. Take care.”

Just then, a staff member approached Ram.

Staff Member: “Sir, I am sorry. I forgot to give this to you earlier. Your seat has been upgraded to Business Class.”

Ram, Vasanthi, and Kaadhambari were pleasantly surprised.

Kaadhambari smiled and said, “Dad, I told my friend about your journey, and she arranged this because of our good rapport with the airline.”

Ram smiled warmly and thanked her.

After a few more emotional moments together, Ram left for the departure gate.

While sitting in his seat, he began thinking about how unexpectedly his trip to the UAE had been decided—and how beautifully and happily it had ended.

He had come to the United Arab Emirates with no idea that the journey would change his life in such a meaningful way. Most importantly, he had reunited with his beloved Vasanthi after so many years.

As the aircraft prepared for take-off, Ram looked out of the window and smiled.

His heart was filled with gratitude, happiness, and beautiful memories.

ஒரு மறக்க முடியாத பிரியாவிடை

மறுநாள் காலை சரியாக 6:45 மணிக்கு, வசந்தியும் காதம்பரியும் விருந்தினர் இல்லத்திற்கு வந்தனர். ராம் ஏற்கனவே தனது உடைமைகள் அனைத்தையும் பேக் செய்து, புறப்படத் தயாராக இருந்தார். அவர்களை அன்புடன் வரவேற்று, காலை வணக்கம் தெரிவித்தார்.

வசந்தி: “காலை வணக்கம், ராம். நேற்றிரவு நன்றாகத் தூங்கினீர்களா?”

ராம்: “ஆம், வசந்தி. நீங்கள் எப்படி?”

வசந்தி: “நானும் நன்றாகத் தூங்கினேன்.”

அவர்கள் விமான நிலையத்தை நோக்கிப் பயணம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தபோது, ராமுக்கு அனுஷா மேடமிடமிருந்து தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு வந்தது.

அனுஷா மேடம்: “ராம், உங்கள் பயணம் மகிழ்ச்சியாகவும் பாதுகாப்பாகவும் அமையட்டும். உங்களை நன்றாகப் பார்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்.”

அட்கின்சனும் ராமைத் தொலைபேசியில் தொடர்புகொண்டு, பாதுகாப்பான பயணத்திற்கு வாழ்த்துத் தெரிவித்தார். அலியும் தனது நல்வாழ்த்துகளைத் தெரிவித்தார்.

சிறிது நேரத்தில் அவர்கள் எமிரேட்ஸ் டெர்மினலை அடைந்தனர். ராம் தனது உடைமைகளை செக்-இன் செய்துவிட்டு, வெளியே காத்திருந்த வசந்தி மற்றும் காதம்பரியிடம் திரும்பி வந்தார்.

ராம்: “என்னுடைய லக்கேஜை செக்-இன் செய்து விட்டேன். எல்லாம் சரியாக இருக்கிறது.”

வசந்தி அவரை அன்புடன் பார்த்தார்.

வசந்தி: “ராம், உங்களை நன்றாகப் பார்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். பெங்களூரு விமான நிலையத்தில் உங்களுடைய பத்திரிகையாளர் நண்பர் ராஜ் உங்களை வரவேற்க வருகிறார் என்பதை அறிந்து எனக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது. கடந்த சில நாட்களில் நாம் பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட இந்த மறக்க முடியாத தருணங்கள், பதினைந்து நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு நான் பாட்டியுடன் மைசூருக்கு வரும் வரை என் மனதில் நீங்காமல் இருக்கும்.”

அவர் தொடர்ந்து கூறினார்:

“அமெரிக்கா செல்லும் முன், அக்டோபர் 12ஆம் தேதிக்கு முன்னதாக பாட்டி என்னைப் பார்க்க விரும்பினார். அதற்குள் நமது டிக்கெட்டுகள் உறுதி செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கும் என்றும், எனது பாஸ்போர்ட்டில் தேவையான எண்டார்ஸ்மென்ட்டும் முடிந்திருக்கும் என்றும் நம்புகிறேன். பாஸ்போர்ட் எனக்குக் கிடைத்ததும் அதை உங்களுக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கிறேன். பின்னர், விசா சமர்ப்பிப்பதற்காக அதை சுகந்தியிடம் நீங்கள் அனுப்பி வைக்கலாம்.”

சில நிமிடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு, வசந்தி ராமை அன்புடன் கட்டித் தழுவினார். காதம்பரியும் ராமைக் கட்டித் தழுவினாள்.

ராம், வசந்தி மற்றும் காதம்பரி மூவரும் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டனர்.

காதம்பரி புன்னகையுடன் கூறினாள்:

காதம்பரி: “டாட், உங்கள் பயணத்தைப் பற்றி நான் என் தோழியிடம் கூறியிருந்தேன். நமக்கும் அந்த விமான நிறுவனத்திற்கும் உள்ள நல்ல தொடர்பின் காரணமாக, அவர் இதை ஏற்பாடு செய்திருக்கிறார்.”

ராம் அன்புடன் புன்னகைத்து, காதம்பரிக்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

இன்னும் சில உணர்ச்சிகரமான தருணங்களை ஒருவருடன் ஒருவர் பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட பிறகு, ராம் புறப்படும் வாயிலை நோக்கிச் சென்றார்.

தனது இருக்கையில் அமர்ந்திருந்தபோது, எதிர்பாராத விதமாக தனது ஐக்கிய அரபு அமீரகப் பயணம் எவ்வாறு முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது என்பதையும், அது எவ்வளவு அழகாகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாகவும் முடிந்தது என்பதையும் ராம் நினைத்துப் பார்த்தார்.

இந்தப் பயணம் தனது வாழ்க்கையை இவ்வளவு அர்த்தமுள்ள விதத்தில் மாற்றும் என்று எந்த எண்ணமும் இல்லாமல் அவர் ஐக்கிய அரபு அமீரகத்திற்கு வந்திருந்தார். எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக, பல ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு தனது அன்புக்குரிய வசந்தியுடன் மீண்டும் இணைந்திருந்தார்.

விமானம் புறப்படத் தயாரானபோது, ராம் ஜன்னல் வழியாக வெளியே பார்த்துப் புன்னகைத்தார்.

அவரது இதயம் நன்றியுணர்வு, மகிழ்ச்சி மற்றும் அழகான நினைவுகளால் நிறைந்திருந்தது.

An Evening Call

That evening, Ram received a call from Kaadhambari.

“Mr. Ram, sorry, Dad. Mummy and I were supposed to come there at 6 p.m., but we may be a little late. Mummy asked me to change the timing of your flight tomorrow. If you take the evening flight, you may reach Mysore quite late. I have just spoken to our travel agency and am waiting for their confirmation. I will keep you informed.”

She ended the call.

Ram was extremely happy. The affection and concern Vasanthi had shown in the past, when she had taken every possible precaution at KRS Dam to make sure he reached Bangalore safely, was once again reflected in her concern for him now.

She did not want to take any risk with his journey. With the evening flight, he would reach Bangalore late and would then have to travel to Mysore by taxi. She wanted her Ram to reach Mysore safely and comfortably.

“Oh, my lovely Vasanthi,” Ram whispered to himself with a smile.

About twenty minutes later, Kaadhambari called again.

“Hello, Dad. Tomorrow morning’s flight has been changed. We will be coming there shortly.”

Exactly half an hour later, Vasanthi and Kaadhambari reached the guest house.

Ram thanked them warmly for changing his flight schedule.

Kaadhambari smiled and said, “Dad, this idea was given by your wife—my Mummy.”

Vasanthi smiled affectionately.

“The flight is at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning. You will reach Bangalore around 2 p.m., and you can safely continue your journey to Mysore. There is no need for you to travel late in the evening,” she said.

Vasanthi had also brought two large packets of sweets for Ram to share with all his friends in Mysore.

They sat together on the sofa and spent some pleasant time talking. Vasanthi looked beautiful in a lovely green saree, while Ram was wearing his favourite blue shirt.

After spending nearly an hour together, they got ready to leave.

Kaadhambari told Ram, “Dad, Mummy and I will come tomorrow at 6:45 a.m. and take you to the airport. I have also informed Chief Atkinson and the other staff members, particularly Ali, about the change in your flight timing. Everything is taken care of. See you tomorrow, Dad. Relax now and get your things packed and ready. And please have dinner here in guest house tonight.”

Vasanthi also affectionately told him, “Take care, Ram. See you in the morning.”

They then left.

After having dinner, Ram returned to his room and watched television for a while. Suddenly, he saw a programme announcing the presentation of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award to his favourite Sandalwood actor, Anant Nag.

Ram was delighted.

“A truly deserving doyen,” he whispered appreciatively.

Just then, his phone rang.

It was Raj calling from Mysore.

“Hello, Ram. As per your email, you are leaving tomorrow, right?”

Ram replied, “Yes, Raj. There is a slight change in the flight timing. I am now taking the 9 a.m. morning flight and should reach Bangalore around 2 p.m.”

Raj sounded pleasantly surprised.

“Amazing news for me, Ram! I am in Bangalore today on some official work and will be leaving only tomorrow afternoon. I will come to the airport and pick you up.”

Ram was delighted.

“That’s wonderful, Raj. See you tomorrow. Bye!”

After ending the call, Ram sat quietly for a while, thinking about everything that had happened during the day—the love and concern of Vasanthi, Kaadhambari’s affection, the arrangements for his journey, the surprise meeting with Raj, and all the wonderful changes taking place in his life.

Slowly, he murmured to himself with a contented smile,

“Life is really, really beautiful to me.”

வாழ்க்கை அழகானது – 89

ஓர் மாலை நேர தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு

அன்று மாலை ராமுக்கு காதம்பரியிடமிருந்து தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு வந்தது.

“ராம் அப்பா, மன்னிக்கவும். அம்மாவும் நானும் மாலை 6 மணிக்கு அங்கு வருவதாக இருந்தோம். ஆனால், எங்களுக்கு சிறிது தாமதமாகலாம். நாளைய உங்கள் விமானப் பயண நேரத்தை மாற்றும்படி அம்மா கூறினார். நீங்கள் மாலை விமானத்தில் சென்றால், மைசூரை மிகவும் தாமதமாகத்தான் சென்றடைவீர்கள். இப்போதுதான் நமது பயண நிறுவனத்துடன் பேசினேன். அவர்களுடைய உறுதிப்படுத்தலுக்காகக் காத்திருக்கிறேன். தகவல் கிடைத்ததும் உங்களுக்குத் தெரிவிக்கிறேன்.”

என்று கூறிவிட்டு காதம்பரி தொலைபேசியை வைத்துவிட்டாள்.

ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார். கடந்த காலத்தில், கே.ஆர்.எஸ். அணையில் இருந்து அவர் பாதுகாப்பாக பெங்களூரைச் சென்றடைவதை உறுதி செய்வதற்காக வசந்தி எவ்வளவு அக்கறையுடனும் முன்னெச்சரிக்கையுடனும் நடந்துகொண்டாரோ, அதே அன்பும் அக்கறையும் இப்போதும் அவரது பயணத்தைக் குறித்து வெளிப்பட்டது.

ராமின் பயணத்தில் எந்தவித ஆபத்தும் இருக்கக் கூடாது என்பதில் வசந்தி மிகவும் கவனமாக இருந்தாள். மாலை விமானத்தில் சென்றால், அவர் பெங்களூரை இரவு நேரத்தில்தான் சென்றடைவார். அதன்பிறகு அங்கிருந்து டாக்ஸியில் மைசூருக்குப் பயணம் செய்ய வேண்டியிருக்கும். தனது ராம் பாதுகாப்பாகவும் சௌகரியமாகவும் மைசூரைச் சென்றடைய வேண்டும் என்பதையே வசந்தி விரும்பினாள்.

“ஆஹா... என் அன்பான வசந்தி!” என்று ராம் புன்னகையுடன் தனக்குள் மெதுவாகக் கூறிக்கொண்டார்.

சுமார் இருபது நிமிடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு காதம்பரி மீண்டும் தொலைபேசியில் அழைத்தாள்.

“ஹலோ அப்பா. நாளைய காலை விமானம் மாற்றப்பட்டுவிட்டது. நாங்கள் இன்னும் சிறிது நேரத்தில் அங்கு வந்துவிடுகிறோம்.”

சரியாக அரை மணி நேரத்திற்குப் பிறகு வசந்தியும் காதம்பரியும் விருந்தினர் இல்லத்திற்கு வந்தனர்.

ராமின் விமானப் பயண நேரத்தை மாற்றியதற்காக அவர் இருவருக்கும் அன்புடன் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

காதம்பரி புன்னகையுடன் கூறினாள்:

“அப்பா, இந்த யோசனை அம்மாவுடையது — உங்கள் மனைவியின் யோசனைதான்.”

வசந்தி அன்புடன் புன்னகைத்தாள்.

“நாளை காலை 9 மணிக்கு விமானம். நீங்கள் மதியம் சுமார் 2 மணிக்கு பெங்களூரைச் சென்றடைவீர்கள். அதன்பிறகு பாதுகாப்பாக மைசூருக்குப் பயணத்தைத் தொடரலாம். மாலை நேரத்தில் நீங்கள் தாமதமாகப் பயணம் செய்ய வேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை,” என்று வசந்தி கூறினாள்.

ராமுக்காக மைசூரில் உள்ள அவரது நண்பர்கள் அனைவருடனும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதற்காக வசந்தி இரண்டு பெரிய பொட்டலங்களில் இனிப்புகளையும் கொண்டு வந்திருந்தாள்.

அவர்கள் மூவரும் சோபாவில் அமர்ந்து சிறிது நேரம் அன்பாகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாகவும் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். வசந்தி அழகான பச்சை நிறப் புடவையில் மிகவும் அழகாகத் தோன்றினாள். ராம் தனது விருப்பமான நீல நிறச் சட்டையை அணிந்திருந்தார்.

சுமார் ஒரு மணி நேரம் ஒன்றாகக் கழித்த பிறகு, அவர்கள் புறப்படத் தயாரானார்கள்.

காதம்பரி ராமிடம் கூறினாள்:

“அப்பா, நானும் அம்மாவும் நாளை காலை 6.45 மணிக்கு இங்கு வந்து உங்களை விமான நிலையத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்கிறோம். உங்கள் விமான நேரம் மாற்றப்பட்டிருப்பதை தலைமை அதிகாரி அட்கின்சனுக்கும் மற்ற ஊழியர்களுக்கும், குறிப்பாக அலிக்கும் தெரிவித்துவிட்டேன். எல்லா ஏற்பாடுகளும் செய்யப்பட்டுவிட்டன. நாளை பார்க்கலாம் அப்பா. இப்போது நீங்கள் நிம்மதியாக இருங்கள். உங்கள் பொருட்களை எல்லாம் எடுத்துச் செல்லத் தயாராக வைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். மேலும், இன்றிரவு இங்கேயே விருந்தினர் இல்லத்தில் இரவு உணவைச் சாப்பிடுங்கள்.”

வசந்தியும் அன்புடன்,

“ராம், உங்களைப் பார்த்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். காலையில் பார்க்கலாம்,” என்று கூறினாள்.

அதன்பிறகு இருவரும் அங்கிருந்து புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றனர்.

இரவு உணவை முடித்துக்கொண்ட ராம் தனது அறைக்குத் திரும்பி சிறிது நேரம் தொலைக்காட்சி பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.

அப்போது திடீரென, அவருக்குப் பிடித்த சாண்டல்வுட் நடிகர் அனந்த் நாக் அவர்களுக்கு தாதாசாகேப் பால்கே விருது வழங்கப்படுவது குறித்த நிகழ்ச்சி ஒன்று தொலைக்காட்சியில் ஒளிபரப்பாகிக் கொண்டிருந்தது.

ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார்.

“உண்மையிலேயே தகுதியான ஒரு மாபெரும் கலைஞர்,” என்று அவர் பாராட்டுடன் மெதுவாகக் கூறினார்.

அந்த நேரத்தில் அவரது தொலைபேசி ஒலித்தது.

மைசூரிலிருந்து ராஜ் அழைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

“ஹலோ ராம். உங்கள் மின்னஞ்சலின்படி, நீங்கள் நாளை புறப்படுகிறீர்கள், இல்லையா?” என்று ராஜ் கேட்டார்.

ராம் பதிலளித்தார்:

“ஆம் ராஜ். விமானப் பயண நேரத்தில் சிறிய மாற்றம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இப்போது காலை 9 மணிக்கான விமானத்தில் செல்கிறேன். மதியம் சுமார் 2 மணிக்கு பெங்களூரைச் சென்றடைய வேண்டும்.”

ராஜ் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்.

“ராம், இது எனக்கு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியான செய்தி! நான் இன்று சில அலுவலகப் பணிகளுக்காக பெங்களூரில் இருக்கிறேன். நாளை மதியம் வரை இங்கேதான் இருப்பேன். நான் விமான நிலையத்திற்கு வந்து உங்களை அழைத்துச் செல்கிறேன்.”

ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார்.

“அது அருமையான செய்தி ராஜ். நாளை சந்திப்போம். பை!”

என்று கூறிவிட்டு ராம் தொலைபேசியை வைத்தார்.

சிறிது நேரம் அமைதியாக அமர்ந்திருந்த அவர், அன்று நடைபெற்ற அனைத்தையும் நினைத்துப் பார்த்தார் — வசந்தியின் அன்பும் அக்கறையும், காதம்பரியின் பாசமும், தனது பயணத்திற்காக செய்யப்பட்டிருந்த அனைத்து ஏற்பாடுகளும், எதிர்பாராத விதமாக ராஜைச் சந்திக்கக் கிடைத்த வாய்ப்பும், தனது வாழ்க்கையில் தொடர்ந்து நிகழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் அற்புதமான மாற்றங்களும் அவரது நினைவில் ஒன்றன்பின் ஒன்றாக வந்து சென்றன.

Life Is Beautiful – 88

After all the guests had left, Anusha Madam sat with Ram and Vasanthi for a while and spoke affectionately.

“Honestly, all our friends were surprised to know that Ram is 57 and Vasanthi is 53. Both of you still look graceful, dignified, and respectable.”

Ram looked at Vasanthi. Vasanthi looked back at him, and they both smiled.

Ram replied, “Madam, I believe it is God’s grace that we are blessed to look and feel this way. More importantly, our intention in life is to bring people together and help those who genuinely deserve support.”

Anusha Madam smiled and said, “Very few people have such a nature. I have known Vasanthi for 23 years, and I have seen her kindness and concern for others throughout this period. You both should live a long and happy life and continue doing good for others.

“Even before her marriage, Vasanthi took responsibility for Kaadhambari and made many sacrifices for her. That itself shows what kind of person she is. And through Kaadhambari, I have also come to know about you, Ram, and how you quietly helped a deserving student. Today, that student is comfortably settled in life.

“It is remarkable that, in your own ways, both of you have helped a deserving girl and a deserving boy find a better and more secure future. Perhaps, in some mysterious way, this was God’s desire—to bring the two of you together after so many years.”

She paused for a moment and then asked, “Ram, what time is your flight tomorrow?”

Ram replied, “Madam, my flight is at 5 p.m. I have spent one wonderful month in this city, and the memories I have created here will remain with me forever.”

Anusha Madam smiled and said, “I can understand what you are feeling. I can see how deeply this city has touched your heart.”

After spending some more time with them, Ram left for his guest house.

That evening, Vasanthi planned to meet Ram at his guest house, and Kaadhambari would also be with them.

As Ram travelled with Kaadhambari, his thoughts went back over the events of the previous two days. Everything that had happened—the reunion with Vasanthi after 26 years, their marriage, the blessings of their friends, and the affection shown by everyone—seemed almost like a beautiful fantasy.

He quietly wondered how life could change so dramatically in just a few days.

But one thing was certain: the memories of these precious moments would remain in his heart forever.

வாழ்க்கை அழகானது – 88

விருந்தினர்கள் அனைவரும் சென்ற பிறகு, அனுஷா மேடம் சிறிது நேரம் ராம் மற்றும் வசந்தியுடன் அமர்ந்து, அவர்களிடம் அன்பாகப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.

“உண்மையாகச் சொன்னால், ராமுக்கு 57 வயதும், வசந்திக்கு 53 வயதும் என்பதை அறிந்தபோது நமது நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். இத்தனை வயதிலும் நீங்கள் இருவரும் இன்னும் அழகாகவும், கண்ணியமாகவும், மரியாதைக்குரியவர்களாகவும் தோற்றமளிக்கிறீர்கள்.”

ராம் வசந்தியைப் பார்த்தார். வசந்தியும் அவரைப் பார்த்து புன்னகைத்தாள். இருவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்துக்கொண்டு சிரித்தனர்.

ராம் பதிலளித்தார்:

“மேடம், நாங்கள் இவ்வாறு அழகாகவும், மனநிறைவுடனும் இருக்கிறோம் என்றால் அது இறைவனின் அருள்தான் என்று நான் நம்புகிறேன். அதைவிட முக்கியமாக, வாழ்க்கையில் நம்முடைய நோக்கம் மனிதர்களை ஒன்றிணைப்பதும், உண்மையிலேயே உதவி தேவைப்படுபவர்களுக்கு ஆதரவளிப்பதும்தான்.”

அனுஷா மேடம் புன்னகைத்தபடி கூறினார்:

“இத்தகைய நல்ல குணம் கொண்டவர்கள் மிகவும் சிலரே இருப்பார்கள். வசந்தியை நான் கடந்த 23 ஆண்டுகளாக அறிந்திருக்கிறேன். இந்தக் காலம் முழுவதும் மற்றவர்களிடம் அவள் காட்டிவரும் அன்பையும், அக்கறையையும் நான் பார்த்திருக்கிறேன். நீங்கள் இருவரும் நீண்ட காலம் மகிழ்ச்சியாக வாழ வேண்டும். தொடர்ந்து மற்றவர்களுக்கு நல்லது செய்து கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும்.

“வசந்தி திருமணத்திற்கு முன்பே, காதம்பரியின் பொறுப்பை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, அவளுக்காக பல தியாகங்களைச் செய்திருக்கிறாள். அதுவே அவள் எப்படிப்பட்ட மனிதர் என்பதை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது. மேலும், காதம்பரியின் மூலம் உங்களைப் பற்றியும், ராம், நீங்கள் அமைதியாக ஒரு தகுதியான மாணவனுக்கு எவ்வாறு உதவி செய்தீர்கள் என்பதையும் நான் அறிந்துகொண்டேன். இன்று அந்த மாணவன் வாழ்க்கையில் வசதியாகவும் நல்ல நிலையில் இருக்கிறான்.

“உங்கள் இருவரும், உங்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் வெவ்வேறு வழிகளில், தகுதியான ஒரு பெண்ணுக்கும், தகுதியான ஒரு ஆணுக்கும் நல்ல மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பான எதிர்காலத்தை உருவாக்க உதவியிருக்கிறீர்கள் என்பது மிகவும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. ஒருவேளை, ஏதோ ஒரு மர்மமான வகையில், இத்தனை ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு நீங்கள் இருவரும் மீண்டும் ஒன்று சேர வேண்டும் என்பதுதான் இறைவனின் விருப்பமாக இருந்திருக்கலாம்.”

சிறிது நேரம் அமைதியாக இருந்த அனுஷா மேடம் பின்னர் கேட்டார்:

“ராம், நாளை உங்கள் விமானம் எத்தனை மணிக்கு?”

ராம் பதிலளித்தார்:

“மேடம், எனது விமானம் மாலை 5 மணிக்கு. இந்த நகரத்தில் நான் ஒரு அற்புதமான ஒரு மாதத்தை கழித்திருக்கிறேன். இங்கு எனக்குக் கிடைத்த நினைவுகள் அனைத்தும் என் மனதில் என்றென்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.”

அனுஷா மேடம் புன்னகைத்தபடி கூறினார்:

“உங்கள் மனதில் என்ன இருக்கிறது என்பதை என்னால் புரிந்துகொள்ள முடிகிறது. இந்த நகரம் உங்கள் இதயத்தை எவ்வளவு ஆழமாகத் தொட்டிருக்கிறது என்பதையும் என்னால் உணர முடிகிறது.”

மேலும் சிறிது நேரம் அவர்களுடன் இருந்த பிறகு, ராம் தனது விருந்தினர் இல்லத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார்.

அன்று மாலை, வசந்தி ராமை அவரது விருந்தினர் இல்லத்தில் சந்திக்கத் திட்டமிட்டாள். காதம்பரியும் அவர்களுடன் செல்லவிருந்தாள்.

காதம்பரியுடன் ராம் பயணம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தபோது, கடந்த இரண்டு நாட்களில் நடந்த நிகழ்வுகள் அனைத்தும் அவரது நினைவுக்கு வந்தன. 26 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு வசந்தியுடன் மீண்டும் இணைந்தது, அவர்களது திருமணம், நண்பர்களின் ஆசீர்வாதங்கள், அனைவரும் காட்டிய அன்பும் பாசமும்—இவை அனைத்தும் ஒரு அழகான கனவைப் போலவே அவருக்குத் தோன்றின.

ஒரு சில நாட்களிலேயே வாழ்க்கை இவ்வளவு பெரிய மாற்றத்தை எப்படி ஏற்படுத்த முடியும் என்று அவர் மனதிற்குள் அமைதியாக எண்ணினார்.

ஆனால் ஒன்று மட்டும் நிச்சயம்—இந்த விலைமதிப்பற்ற தருணங்களின் நினைவுகள் அவரது இதயத்தில் என்றென்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.

Life Is Beautiful – 87

The next morning, Ali came to Ram’s guest house and picked him up for the wedding ceremony at Vasanthi’s place.

Ram reached the venue, where around 30 guests had gathered. Two priests were also present to conduct the wedding ceremony. The guests included colleagues from the Channel office, a few family friends, and friends from the Consulate.

After breakfast, everyone assembled in the hall and took their respective seats. Ram and Vasanthi then went inside to change into their traditional Indian wedding attire.

Ram looked elegant in his traditional wedding attire, wearing a beautiful garland. Vasanthi looked equally graceful in a beautiful orange-coloured saree, also adorned with a garland. The couple looked extremely happy and radiant.

The wedding ceremony began with the chanting of traditional wedding mantras. The sacred rituals continued for nearly an hour. Finally, Ram tied the mangalyam around Vasanthi’s neck, completing the sacred marriage ceremony.

Everyone warmly blessed the newly married couple and wished them a long, happy, healthy, and prosperous life together.

The entire wedding ceremony was also recorded on video. When their friends in Mysore watched the video, they showered Ram and Vasanthi with heartfelt wishes and compliments, describing them as a wonderful and perfectly matched couple.

By then, Sulaiman arrived and warmly congratulated Ram. He said, “I am extremely happy that my new CEO has reunited with his old friend here in the UAE. Your reunion has made me very happy.”

Sulaiman then announced a surprise gift for the newly married couple. He said that he had learned that Ram had already been invited to the United States even before his reunion with Vasanthi. Therefore, as a special gesture, he would arrange a round-trip air ticket for Mrs. Vasanthi Ram so that she could accompany Ram to the United States for the forthcoming programme, where Ram would address the gathering on his favourite subjects—blogging and publication.

Ram was delighted by Sulaiman’s generous gesture and sincerely thanked him for his thoughtful gift.

Atkinson was also extremely happy with Sulaiman’s words. He said that Ram was truly an outstanding and deserving person, and that the recognition and appreciation he was receiving were well deserved.

The Consulate friends also congratulated the newly married couple. They said that although they had come to attend the wedding of two people who had reunited after many years, it felt as though they were witnessing the marriage of a newly formed young couple because of the happiness, affection, and warmth they shared.

Anusha Madam’s lawyer friend then assured her, “Within two days, I will ensure that Mrs. Vasanthi Ram’s name is properly endorsed in her passport through the Indian Consulate, in preparation for her forthcoming journey to the United States.”

Ram was extremely delighted and thanked everyone for making their wedding such a grand and memorable occasion in the friendly country of the United Arab Emirates.

Anusha Madam then thanked all the guests for their presence and announced, “We still have two hours before lunch. My friend’s musical party will now entertain us with some evergreen old Hindi and Kannada songs.”

Within ten minutes, the musical programme began. The entire gathering thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Many guests especially appreciated the melodious old Hindi and Kannada songs, which brought back wonderful memories of their younger days.

After the programme, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch arranged by Venus Caterers. At the end, every guest received a sweet gift box containing an apple as a token of love and appreciation.

Before leaving, Vasanthi and Ram respectfully bowed before Anusha Madam and received her blessings.

Kaadhambari then approached Vasanthi and lovingly received her blessings. With deep emotion, she addressed Vasanthi as her “Mummy” and Ram as her “Dad,” accepting them wholeheartedly as her parents.

It was a deeply touching moment for everyone present.

The reunion that had begun after 26 long years had now blossomed into a beautiful new chapter in the lives of Ram and Vasanthi, bringing two families and many dear friends even closer together.
