Small Story 235 A Brush with Destiny: Nikil's Talent Finds a New Home Madhav had finally applied for his tourist visa to Dubai, and it was approved for one month, with the option to extend. Before leaving for Dubai, he took some of Nikil’s drawings with him. In Dubai, Madhav was to stay with another friend, Shankar, who had been working there for over five years and lived in the Bur Dubai area. On the day of departure, Nikil came to the airport to see Madhav off. By afternoon, Madhav had landed in Dubai, where Shankar warmly welcomed him and took him to his flat. Sathish, who headed the cartoon division at his newspaper, was looking to add a new artist and saw immense potential in Nikil. A week later, Madhav returned to Bengaluru.
