Letter Published in Guf News UAE on 10July 20India: Hike in new coronavirus cases is distressing
The COVID-19 cases in India are increasing, and it is alarming (“India’s COVID-19 death toll hits 20,000 as infections surge", Gulf News, July 07). This figure would not have jumped to this extent if people had followed the administration's advice. The increase of coronavirus cases is hitting all the states of India, which eased lockdown restrictions in the past month. The government is also starting to roll back testing programs. Despite eased restrictions across the country, it is still important to follow local health guidance. Testing is crucial for monitoring the spread of the illness and for helping people to know when to isolate and warn others of possible exposure.

Letter Publihed in Gulf News UAE on 7July 20India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets soldiers injured in Galwan faceoff
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Ladakh after the recent border dispute with China in Galwan valley was laudable (“Video: India PM Modi visits forward location in Ladakh amid tension with China”, Gulf News, July 03). At this crucial hour of the pandemic, his brave visit is very much needed to keep the spirits of the soldiers high. He told them that their bravery will be a “source of inspiration for times to come”. He is a leader with a vision for his countrymen's safety and protection and no one can deny it. We, Indians, are very proud to have a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi.

India: A tribute to Bollywood’s dance legacy

The demise of 71-year-old choreographer Saroj khan is a great loss for the Mumbai film industry ( “Saroj Khan death: Bollywood choreographer often courted controversy”, Gulf News, June 03). Liked by one and all from the film fraternity, and she had her own identity for many memorable movies like Mr India, Kal Nayak, Soldier, Pardes and many. I pray for her departed soul and sending courage to the grieving family members. May her soul rest in peace.
