Tribute 708.

**Tribute to Actor, Producer, Director Late Sundar Krishna Urs** Today, I remembered another remarkable film personality from the Kannada film industry who made a lasting impact three decades ago. His rich voice continues to echo in the hearts of millions of Kannadigas even after his departure. This is no exaggeration, as he is the late actor Sundar Krishna Urs. I moved to the beautiful city of Mysuru in 1982 and spent eleven golden years of my professional life traveling through the neighboring districts. It was during this time that I started watching Kannada movies with my colleagues, asking them to translate the dialogues for me. Through this, I not only learned Kannada but also developed a strong liking for Kannada cinema. I had the privilege of watching a few films starring the late doyenne Sundar Krishna Urs. Some of the films I remember are *Inspector Vikram*, *Auto Raja*, *Antha*, *Sivalinga*, *Nanjundi Kalyana*, *Nyaya Ellide*, *Samyuktha*, and several others that I am unable to recall. He acted alongside the top heroes of his time and worked with many renowned technicians. His contribution to Kannada cinema is truly worth mentioning. In 1986, during my tour in Chikmagalur, I had a chance to see him walking near my hotel. Even though he left us three decades ago, his rich voice and smiling face remain etched in my memory. I recall that he was honored with an award for his performance as a supporting actor in one of his movies. Incidentally, his younger brother, the award-winning editor Suresh Urs, is someone I have had the pleasure of knowing. Today, I feel privileged to pay tribute to this talented and versatile actor. Although he often portrayed negative roles, he made a remarkable name for himself in the Kannada film industry, a legacy no one can deny. K.
