சமயோசிதமாகச் சிந்தித்துச் செயல்படுதல் – வாழ்க்கையில் ஒரு சிறந்த பண்பு

“சமயோசிதமாகச் சிந்தித்துச் செயல்படுதல்” (Presence of Mind) என்பது நமது அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையில் நாம் வளர்த்துக்கொண்டு பயன்படுத்த வேண்டிய மிகவும் மதிப்புமிக்க ஒரு பண்பாகும். எனது பார்வையில், இந்தத் திறனை சரியான நேரத்தில் மட்டுமல்லாமல், அதைவிட முக்கியமாக, நல்ல மற்றும் ஆக்கப்பூர்வமான நோக்கங்களுக்காகப் பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

நமது வாழ்க்கையில் ஏற்படும் பல்வேறு அனுபவங்கள், எதிர்பாராத சூழ்நிலைகள் மற்றும் அன்றாட நிகழ்வுகள், நாம் அமைதியாக இருந்து விவேகத்துடன் சிந்திப்பதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை நமக்குக் கற்றுத் தருகின்றன. சமயோசிதமாகச் சிந்திக்கும் திறன், ஒரு சூழ்நிலையை விரைவாகப் புரிந்துகொண்டு, சரியான முடிவை எடுத்து, குழப்பமடையாமல் அல்லது கிடைத்த வாய்ப்பை இழக்காமல், அதற்கேற்ற வகையில் செயல்பட உதவுகிறது.

உதாரணமாக, நாம் ஒரு வேலைக்கான நேர்முகத் தேர்வுக்குச் செல்லும்போது, குறிப்பிட்ட ஒரு பதவி அல்லது வேலையை மனதில் வைத்திருக்கலாம். ஆனால் அந்தப் பதவி கிடைக்கவில்லை என்றால், நாம் முயற்சியைக் கைவிட்டு விடக்கூடாது. அதே துறையில் நேர்முகத் தேர்வாளர் வேறு ஒரு பொருத்தமான வாய்ப்பை வழங்கினால், அதை திறந்த மனதுடன் பரிசீலிக்க வேண்டும். இத்தகைய நெகிழ்வான அணுகுமுறையும், நடைமுறைச் சிந்தனையும் சில சமயங்களில் நமக்கு அதைவிடச் சிறந்த வாய்ப்பை ஏற்படுத்தித் தரலாம்.

பொது வாழ்க்கையிலும் அரசியலிலும் சமயோசிதமாகச் செயல்பட்டதற்கான பல உதாரணங்களை நாம் காணலாம். பல தலைவர்கள் சரியான நேரத்தில் முடிவுகளை எடுத்துள்ளனர்; மாறிவரும் சூழ்நிலைகளுக்கு ஏற்ப தங்களை மாற்றிக்கொண்டுள்ளனர்; சிலர் ஒரு அரசியல் கட்சியிலிருந்து மற்றொரு கட்சிக்கும் மாறியுள்ளனர். சூழ்நிலையைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு, உரிய நேரத்தில் சரியான முடிவை எடுத்து செயல்பட்ட அவர்களின் திறமை, சில சந்தர்ப்பங்களில் அவர்களை உயர்ந்த நிலைகளுக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்று, வெற்றிகரமான தலைவர்களாக உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.

சமயோசிதமாகச் சிந்தித்துச் செயல்படுதல் என்பது அவசரமாகச் செயல்படுவது அல்ல. அமைதியாக இருந்து, சூழ்நிலையைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு, தெளிவாகச் சிந்தித்து, சரியான நேரத்தில் மிகவும் பொருத்தமான முடிவை எடுப்பதே உண்மையான சமயோசித அறிவாகும்.

நமது மதிப்பிற்குரிய Madhyamar குழுவின் நிர்வாகி அவர்கள் நமக்கு வழங்கியுள்ள இந்தத் தலைப்பு, உண்மையிலேயே சிந்திக்கவும் பயனுள்ள கருத்துகளைப் பகிரவும் தூண்டும் ஒரு சிறந்த தலைப்பாகும். இந்த எளிமையானதாய் தோன்றினாலும், மிகவும் சக்திவாய்ந்த இந்தப் பண்பு, நமது தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்க்கை, தொழில் வாழ்க்கை மற்றும் சமூக வாழ்க்கையில் எவ்வாறு அர்த்தமுள்ள மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்த முடியும் என்பதைப் பற்றி சிந்திக்க இது நம் அனைவருக்கும் ஒரு நல்ல வாய்ப்பை அளிக்கிறது.

அமைதியான மனம், தெளிவான சிந்தனை, சரியான நேரத்தில் எடுக்கப்படும் நடவடிக்கை – இவை மூன்றும் இணைந்தால், பல நேரங்களில் ஒரு கடினமான சூழ்நிலையையே ஒரு மதிப்புமிக்க வாய்ப்பாக மாற்றிவிட முடியும்.

Good Movie.

 I recently watched Karunmayi, a beautiful family drama featuring several legendary late stalwarts of Kannada cinema, including, Vishnuvardhan,Aswath and Pandari Bai. The film was handled with great sensitivity and maturity by director H. N. Bhargava.

The character of Sister Uma was portrayed beautifully by Tara and left a touching impression. The performances of the entire cast, including Ramesh Bhat  and the emotional depth of the story, and the way family relationships were presented make the film truly memorable.

Even after nearly four decades, Karunmayi remains an enjoyable and meaningful family drama. It is heartening to see how a well-made film with strong performances and a simple, emotional storyline can remain fresh and relevant even after so many years.

A wonderful film and a nostalgic experience. Kudos to Director H. N. Bhargava and the entire cast and crew for creating such a memorable family drama. 👏🎬

Life Is Beautiful – 70

Ram hesitated to tell Kathambari about the help he had extended to Prasanna and how happy Prasanna had been about it. By nature, Ram never liked to exhibit or publicise the help he offered to others. He always believed that helping someone should be done quietly, without expecting recognition or appreciation.

Just then, someone called Kathambari to the Editorial Room, and she left.

The morning song he had listened to, followed by Prasanna’s visit to Germany via Dubai, had made Ram feel happy and satisfied. It had been less than a month since Murthy had recommended Prasanna for the training programme in Germany, and Ram could clearly see the respect and confidence Murthy had in him.

While Ram was lost in his thoughts, Atkinson entered the room.

“Good morning, Mr. Ram,” Atkinson wished him warmly.

“Good morning, Mr. Atkinson,” Ram replied.

Atkinson then went into his cabin.

Ram got busy going through the morning news. Time passed quickly, and before he realised it, it was already lunchtime.

Just then, Atkinson called Ram and asked him to come to his cabin.

Ram wondered what Atkinson wanted to discuss with him. He got up from his seat and walked towards Atkinson’s cabin. After knocking on the door, he entered.

“Come in, Ram,” Atkinson said, looking up with a smile.

Ram took a seat opposite him, wondering what important matter Atkinson had in mind.

“Ram, I wanted to speak to you about something important,” Atkinson began.

Ram listened attentively, waiting for him to continue.

“Since your stay in Dubai is going to be short, I want you to make the most of your time here. Tomorrow, you can visit Ajman Independent Studios, an Arabic channel that is very popular and particularly well equipped with advanced technology. You can go there with Kathambari. On your way back, you can also visit the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, which was one of the most famous cricket stadiums in the UAE in earlier days.”

Ram had also heard about the Sharjah Cricket Stadium and was interested in visiting it.

By that time, Kathambari arrived. Atkinson asked her to take Ram to Ajman Independent Studios and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium the next day.

After that, Ram and Kathambari left for lunch at Govinda’s Restaurant.

வாழ்க்கை அழகானது – 70

பிரசன்னாவுக்கு தான் செய்த உதவியைப் பற்றியும், அதனால் பிரசன்னா எவ்வளவு மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தார் என்பதையும் காதம்பரியிடம் கூற ராம் தயங்கினார். பிறருக்கு தான் செய்யும் உதவிகளை வெளிப்படுத்துவதையோ, விளம்பரப்படுத்துவதையோ ராம் இயல்பாகவே விரும்பியதில்லை. ஒருவருக்கு உதவி செய்வது என்பது அமைதியாகச் செய்ய வேண்டிய ஒன்று; அதற்காக பாராட்டையோ, அங்கீகாரத்தையோ எதிர்பார்க்கக் கூடாது என்பதே அவரது எண்ணமாக இருந்தது.

அந்த நேரத்தில், யாரோ ஒருவர் காதம்பரியை ஆசிரியர் அறைக்கு அழைத்தார். அவளும் அங்கிருந்து சென்றாள்.

காலையில் அவர் கேட்ட பாடலும், அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து பிரசன்னா துபாய் வழியாக ஜெர்மனிக்குச் செல்லவிருப்பதும் ராமுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியையும் மனநிறைவையும் அளித்திருந்தன. மூர்த்தி பிரசன்னாவை ஜெர்மனியில் நடைபெறும் பயிற்சித் திட்டத்திற்கு பரிந்துரைத்து ஒரு மாதம்கூட ஆகவில்லை. ஆனால், மூர்த்திக்கு தன் மீது இருந்த மரியாதையையும் நம்பிக்கையையும் ராம் தெளிவாக உணர்ந்தார்.

ராம் தனது எண்ணங்களில் மூழ்கியிருந்தபோது, அட்கின்சன் அறைக்குள் வந்தார்.

“காலை வணக்கம், திரு. ராம்,” என்று அட்கின்சன் அன்புடன் கூறினார்.

“காலை வணக்கம், திரு. அட்கின்சன்,” என்று ராம் பதிலளித்தார்.

அதன் பிறகு அட்கின்சன் தனது அறைக்குள் சென்றார்.

ராம் காலையிலான செய்திகளைப் படிப்பதில் மும்முரமானார். நேரம் வேகமாகக் கடந்து சென்றது. அவர் உணர்வதற்குள் மதிய உணவு நேரமும் வந்துவிட்டது.

அப்போது அட்கின்சன் ராமை அழைத்து, தனது அறைக்கு வருமாறு கூறினார்.

அட்கின்சன் தன்னிடம் என்ன பேச விரும்புகிறார் என்று ராம் யோசித்தார். தனது இருக்கையிலிருந்து எழுந்து, அட்கின்சனின் அறையை நோக்கி நடந்தார். கதவைத் தட்டிவிட்டு உள்ளே சென்றார்.

“வாருங்கள், ராம்,” என்று புன்னகையுடன் தலையை உயர்த்திப் பார்த்தபடி அட்கின்சன் கூறினார்.

ராம் அவருக்கு எதிரே இருந்த இருக்கையில் அமர்ந்தார். அட்கின்சன் தன்னிடம் என்ன முக்கியமான விஷயத்தைப் பற்றிப் பேசப் போகிறார் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பு அவரிடம் இருந்தது.

“ராம், உங்களிடம் ஒரு முக்கியமான விஷயத்தைப் பேச வேண்டும்,” என்று அட்கின்சன் தொடங்கினார்.

அட்கின்சன் தொடர்ந்து பேசுவதற்காக ராம் கவனமாகக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.

“துபாயில் உங்கள் தங்கும் காலம் குறுகியதாக இருக்கப் போகிறது. எனவே, இங்கு இருக்கும் நேரத்தை நீங்கள் முழுமையாகப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறேன். நாளை நீங்கள் அஜ்மான் இன்டிபெண்டன்ட் ஸ்டுடியோஸுக்குச் செல்லலாம். அது மிகவும் பிரபலமான அரபு சேனல். அதிநவீன தொழில்நுட்ப வசதிகளுடன் மிகவும் சிறப்பாக அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிறுவனம். நீங்கள் காதம்பரியுடன் அங்கு செல்லலாம். திரும்பி வரும் வழியில் ஷார்ஜா கிரிக்கெட் ஸ்டேடியத்திற்கும் சென்று வரலாம். முன்பு அது ஐக்கிய அரபு அமீரகத்தின் மிகவும் புகழ்பெற்ற கிரிக்கெட் மைதானங்களில் ஒன்றாக இருந்தது.”

ஷார்ஜா கிரிக்கெட் ஸ்டேடியத்தைப் பற்றி ராமும் கேள்விப்பட்டிருந்தார். அதைப் பார்வையிடுவதில் அவருக்கும் ஆர்வம் ஏற்பட்டது.

அந்த நேரத்தில் காதம்பரி அங்கு வந்தாள். மறுநாள் ராமை அஜ்மான் இன்டிபெண்டன்ட் ஸ்டுடியோஸுக்கும், ஷார்ஜா கிரிக்கெட் ஸ்டேடியத்திற்கும் அழைத்துச் செல்லுமாறு அட்கின்சன் அவளிடம் கூறினார்.

அதன் பிறகு, ராமும் காதம்பரியும் மதிய உணவுக்காக கோவிந்தாஸ் உணவகத்திற்குச் சென்றனர்.

 On this memorable Teachers’ Day, it gives me immense pleasure to pay tribute, on behalf of our vibrant MaduraiVeerans Group, to my good old colleague and dear friend, Dr. A. K. Gnanachandran, a distinguished Professor of Pharmacy.

Dr. Gnanachandran has been passionately contributing to the field of Pharmacy through his valuable lectures, academic guidance, and extensive research work, reaching and inspiring students and faculty in various Pharmacy colleges across India.

His dedication to education, commitment to research, and willingness to share his knowledge are truly commendable. His continued efforts to nurture young minds and strengthen the academic community deserve our appreciation and respect.

On this special occasion, we wish Dr. A. K. Gnanachandran good health, happiness, and many more successful academic achievements and memorable events in the years ahead.

Life Is Beautiful – 69

After sitting down in his chair, Ram was served a cup of tea by the messenger. As he took the first sip, he noticed the familiar cardamom flavour. The taste immediately brought back memories of the morning especially the beautiful memories associated with the Tamil song he had heard.

Just then, Kathambari entered the room and wished him, “Good morning, Ram.”

“Good morning, Kathambari,” Ram replied with a smile.

She then sat in the chair opposite him and began having her tea.

Suddenly, Ram’s mobile phone, the new one given to him by the Channel, started ringing. Ram looked at the screen and answered the call.

“Hello, Ram! How are you?” It was his friend Murthy.

“I am fine, Murthy. How are things there?”

“Everything is fine. Tommy is enjoying our company, and we are all very happy. Actually, I called you to share some good news.”

“Oh! What is the good news?” Ram asked curiously.

“Our principals have selected a good candidate to visit Germany and try out their products. Our MD and I discussed the matter and selected Prasanna to go to Germany. He will be travelling via Dubai, and we have booked his ticket for Sunday. He will stay in Dubai for one day so that he can meet you. His accommodation has also been booked at a hotel.”

“That is really good news, Murthy. Prasanna is indeed a lucky man,” Ram said happily.

“Yes, Ram. And I must thank you for your suggestion. Within such a short span of time, he has received this wonderful opportunity to travel to Germany. I just wanted to inform you personally. Take care, Ram.”

“Thank you, Murthy. Please convey my best wishes to Prasanna.”

The call ended.

Kathambari, who had been listening to the conversation, looked delighted but also curious. She was eager to know who Prasanna was, what his connection with Ram was, and why Ram seemed so pleased about his opportunity to travel to Germany.

Looking at Ram inquisitively, she finally asked,

“Ram, who is Prasanna? And what is the connection between you and him?”

Ram looked at Kathambari and smiled mysteriously.
