Article Published in The Gulf Today  UAE on 21J une 14 (356).Peaceful trek
Last week, I visited Eldorado Canyon State Park, which is a famous tourist destination in Denver, US, and known for its impressive geological history that dates back to millions of years. Ute Native American tribes are known to be one of the first inhabitants of this area, before most of it was lost to European settlers.

I walked on a picturesque trail for half an hour, watching my step since some trails ran steep, and enjoyed a peaceful trek near a beautiful waterfall. My time at the park reminded me of similar tourist destinations near Fujairah, which I had visited during my stay in the UAE. They were very similar, with the biggest similarity being that both brought great peace and pleasure to my heart.

Letter.

Letter Published in The National UAE on 16 June 14 Iraqis should use talk, not violence

Your editorial, Iraq’s religious divide opened door to ISIL (June 14), was thought-provoking.

Ever since their country was invaded by the Americans and their allies, the people of Iraq have seen no peace.

Now Iraq would appear to be in a state of civil war. Violence is not the answer; all groups should engage in a comprehensive peace dialogue.

As an oil-rich nation, Iraq should harness its natural resources for everyone’s benefit, and tackle its problems with diplomacy.

Letter Published in The National UAE on 15June 14Returning doctors are helping India
Your story Brain regain in India as medical tourism booms (June 13) was a pleasure to read.
The south Indian state of Chennai has always been known for its medical infrastructure and quality of treatment, so it is pleasing that doctors who have been living abroad are now returning there to offer their services.
The fact that people from other South Asian countries and the Middle East are visiting Chennai for medical treatment is important to the Indian economy.

Mountain of Joy

At a time when clean environment is taking a beating around the world, I was happy to visit last week the famous Rocky Mountain National Park in Denver. At over 12,000 feet, the snow-capped mountain attracts tourists from across the world and is well preserved by the government.

Established in 1915, the site has rich history too. Apart from its beauty, the best part is one can view from the top areas belonging to three different states. Every place has its uniqueness. I still remember the alluring tourist spots that I frequented while working in the UAE that were so well preserved by the authorities.

Need for Change
Your Power &Politics (TNSE 8)  made for an interesting read. The author has aptly analysed the concept of good governance. The newly-elected Prime Minister,Narendra Modi, wants his  ministers to execute work with the aim of good governance. He does not want them to push files in the old conventional way.In other words ,ministers will be held accountable.Change in every sphere is much needed at this juncture.
