Small Story 409.

Small Story 409. A Missed Movie, A Meaningful Evening Raj was completely disappointed by the absence of his friend Aruna at the theater. Despite his repeated requests and the effort he had taken to get tickets for the film Kantara, she hadn’t turned up. Just as he hesitated to go inside alone, a call came from Aruna. “Hey, I’m so sorry, Raj,” she said. “Yesterday my uncle and aunt came from Mangalore. While talking, my aunt mentioned she really wanted to watch this movie with my uncle. They’re on their way to the theater now. We’ll go some other day. After sending them in, please come to our restaurant.” A few minutes later, a smart elderly couple arrived. Raj recognized them immediately. He introduced himself politely, handed them the tickets, and refused to take any money. When Raj reached the restaurant, Aruna was already waiting for him, dressed in a beautiful green saree with a matching blouse. She had ordered some snacks and a special cake for him. “Sorry, dear,” she said warmly. “This uncle and aunt are my dad’s only sister and her husband. They love me so much and are leaving tomorrow after attending a marriage function. I just couldn’t say no when they wanted to watch Kantara.” Raj smiled. “You did the right thing, Aruna. We should always respect our elders and fulfill their wishes whenever possible.” Aruna whispered softly, “Yes, and apart from fulfilling their wishes, we also receive their blessings.” Though they missed watching Kantara together that day, Raj and Aruna spent a happy and memorable evening.
