Small Story 603.
A Fresh Start with Good News
After his vacation, Vinod returned to Dubai to continue the course he had left unfinished for a few more months. When he reached his flat, his roommate Hari warmly welcomed him. Vinod shared sweets and snacks prepared by his mother.
Hari said, “The sweets your mom makes are very nice. I really love the taste.” Vinod felt happy hearing the compliment about his mother’s cooking. Back in his hometown, Bengaluru, everyone appreciated her preparations, especially her sweet dishes.
Hari then added, “Hey, I almost forgot—your internship with a leading supply chain management company has been approved. My friend’s dad, who works there, told me yesterday. You should receive the official message today.”
Just then, Vinod checked his phone and saw the approval message. He was asked to join from the next day. The company was located very close to his flat, and the stipend of 5000 dirhams for six months (with a possible extension) felt like a great opportunity.
Excited, Vinod called his dad, who was working in the UAE capital, and shared the good news. His father was very happy and said that Vinod would surely shine in his career.
Before leaving for his hometown earlier, Vinod had been worried about the uncertainty caused by the war crisis. But now, after returning, he had received this wonderful opportunity. He prayed that the crisis would end permanently and felt grateful to the UAE government for ensuring the safety of everyone during those difficult sixty days.
