Small Story 432.
Small Story 432
Aneesh Story Continuation
The flight landed at Trichy airport. Aneesh got down, collected his luggage, and walked alongside the former cop, Muthiah. As they reached the exit, Aneesh requested his number.
“It was a great moment for me to travel with you, sir,” he said sincerely.
“Same here,” whispered Muthiah with a warm smile. “I too travelled with an impressive event-management executive. I am attending a marriage here in Srirangam tomorrow, and after that, I’ll be heading to Tirunelveli.”
“Okay, sir. I also have to deliver a cover to my friend’s father in Srirangam. After that, I’ll travel to Tirunelveli by cab,” Aneesh replied.
“Your devotion to friendship—I applaud that,” nodded Muthiah, patting his shoulder.
Both exchanged numbers and parted ways.
Aneesh quickly engaged a cab and reached Srirangam. His friend’s father, Rangan, greeted him warmly at the doorstep.
“My son called from Dubai and told me you’d be coming to deliver the cover,” said Rangan, ushering him inside.
After a refreshing cup of coffee, Aneesh handed over the envelope.
“This is a great help,” Rangan said gratefully. “The cover contains a DD for my niece’s wedding tomorrow. You came all the way here to deliver it.”
Aneesh smiled modestly. “Sir, your son is my close friend. This is not a big help at all.”
Rangan admired Aneesh’s simplicity and respectfulness.
After a short conversation, Aneesh left again in his cab. As the vehicle moved toward the highway, his thoughts drifted home.
Mummy will be anxiously waiting… and surely she would have made my favourite sweet—Mysorepak.
The six-hour journey passed steadily. Aneesh had his lunch midway, and by late afternoon, the cab finally reached the vast industrial outskirts near the famous India Cements factory.
To be continued…
