Small Story 471.
Amazing Academy of OO1
Ranjitha was discussing the New Year plans with her boss, OO1. Suddenly, her mobile phone rang. She took the call and stepped out of the room, as the discussion with the Chief had just concluded.
“Hello, this is Sophia,” the voice said. “I arrived in Mumbai yesterday to attend my colleague’s son’s wedding. I wanted to see you and your academy. First of all, accept my Christmas wishes to you and your family. You can come to Mysore and meet our Chief. Please stay in touch with me.”
After the call, Ranjitha went to the Chief’s cabin.
“Sir,” she said, “my friend Sophia, an FBI officer from Philadelphia, has come to India to attend a wedding in Mumbai. She would like to visit you and our academy tomorrow.”
OO1 smiled. “She is most welcome to the Amazing Academy.”
Ranjitha felt happy and thanked the boss. She immediately sent a message to Sophia.
The next day, Sophia arrived at Bengaluru airport from Mumbai. She was received by OO1 Academy security officer Lal, who drove her to the famous OO1 Academy in Mysore. After a journey of two and a half hours, they reached the academy.
Sophia was warmly greeted by her friend Ranjitha, and they hugged each other. Ranjitha shared a strong friendship and deep respect with Sophia, as Sophia had guided and helped her during Ranjitha’s visit to Philadelphia.
After tea and snacks, Ranjitha took Sophia to OO1’s cabin and introduced her. Seeing OO1, the globally acknowledged investigation officer, Sophia felt thrilled. He was a simple, soft-spoken 58-year-old man with a warm smile and an excellent international reputation for his work.
After an hour of general discussion, Ranjitha showed Sophia around the campus and introduced her to Director Paul. They had a brief discussion as well.
At 1:30 PM, Sophia and Ranjitha reached the large dining hall, where OO1 and Paul were waiting. After a delicious lunch with desserts, Sophia thanked the Chief for the wonderful hospitality.
Later, Ranjitha took Sophia to her home and introduced her to her mother, Vrindha. Sophia spent half an hour with the family. Since her visit was short, she had to leave for Bengaluru airport that night to catch her early morning flight.
Before leaving, Vrindha gifted Sophia a beautiful Mysore silk saree and a sandalwood photo frame of the Mysore Palace.
After dinner, Sophia left for Bengaluru airport with Lal. Once seated on the flight, she smiled to herself, thinking about Amazing OO1, his well-organized academy, the efficient and talented staff, the beautiful saree, and the palace photo frame.
“Ranjitha is a wonderful friend,” Sophia thought. “She made my visit truly memorable.”
