Small Story 494.

Small Story 494 Blessings, References, and a Father’s Trust Viswa visited his aunt’s house to collect a reference letter from his uncle, Keshav, who had retired as a Deputy General Manager from a leading bank. Uncle Keshav was a highly respected and versatile banker, known for his many achievements. Viswa was applying for a new job in an IT firm, which required two reference letters. He chose one from Uncle Keshav and the other from his close friend Vasanthy’s father, Ram, who had retired from the pharmaceutical industry as a consultant. Aunt warmly welcomed Viswa and offered him tea and snacks she had prepared in advance for the upcoming Satyanarayana Pooja scheduled two days later. Uncle Keshav handed over the reference letter and blessed Viswa for a bright future. Later, Viswa went to Vasanthy’s house and received the second reference letter from Ram. Vasanthy had already left for her final-year MBA class. Viswa and Vasanthy shared a strong friendship, united by their common goal of settling well in life and helping deserving people. They sincerely prayed for each other’s happiness and peace. A few days later, Viswa received an interview call from the IT firm. After successfully completing the interview, he was offered a two-year assignment in the Netherlands. Viswa’s parents were hesitant, as he was their only son. However, Viswa assured his father, Murthy, that he would return to India after two years. After completing two successful years, Viswa was promoted and transferred to Singapore. Initially, Murthy was reluctant again, but later he changed his mind when he learned that his old friend had settled in Singapore and planned to invite him there someday. Since Viswa had kept his earlier promise, Murthy trusted him and gave his approval. Viswa was happy and grateful, realizing that his father’s friendship and trust had quietly played a key role in shaping his journey. K.Ragavan 18-1-26
