Small Story 500.
Small Story 500
Amazing 500 Trips
Sangeetha arrived early at the newly opened restaurant near Judicial Colony and waited for her close friend Smitha. Both of them worked as colleagues in a leading bank and shared a strong bond of friendship.
Sangeetha lived in an independent house in Judicial Layout. Every morning, she dropped her son at school and then drove to her office by car. Her husband was an IT engineer who mostly worked from home. Life was busy but well-managed.
Smitha lived nearby in another independent house. Ever since the Silk Institute Metro train had started, she preferred travelling by metro to her office in Jayanagar. It had become a routine she enjoyed—comfortable, fast, and stress-free.
Since it was a Sunday, both friends decided to meet at the new restaurant, which had already earned a good name in the area. Soon, Smitha arrived carrying a small packet of sweets.
Sangeetha greeted her warmly, “Hey Smitha! How’s your day?”
Smitha smiled and replied, “It’s great! My mother, Nandhini, prepared milk cake using jaggery instead of sugar. I brought some for you.”
As they settled down, Smitha shared something exciting. “My sister Poornima is studying statistics. She keeps track of everything. Today she surprised me by saying that I have completed 500 metro trips!”
Sangeetha looked amazed. “Five hundred trips? That’s incredible!”
Smitha nodded happily. “Ever since I joined the bank, I’ve been travelling by metro. Even on Sundays, I use it to visit different places. Though I haven’t travelled outside the city much, these 500 metro journeys feel like a big achievement.”
Sangeetha laughed and said, “Not only your metro rides are impressive, but also Poornima’s statistical tracking! Today is truly special.”
They celebrated the moment with smiles, sweets, and warm conversation. After spending an hour together, both friends left the restaurant feeling proud and joyful.
That Sunday became unforgettable—a celebration of friendship, consistency, and 500 amazing metro trips.
