Small Story 544.

 Small Story 544

 Encounter with Happiness

Sushma joined duty on her first day after securing excellent marks in Aeronautical Engineering along with other credentials. She was assigned to a domestic flight flying from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram and successfully completed her journey.

In her family, she was the only daughter of her parents. From her younger days, she had always been passionate about flying and had dreamed of becoming a captain in a reputed airline.

After reaching the destination, she had three hours before her return flight. She quickly went to the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple. There she had darshan and prayed to the Lord with gratitude for her success and blessings for her future.

That night she reached home. Her parents were amazed and proud that on the very first day of her duty she had also visited the great temple. Her mother came close, hugged her warmly, and said,

“You have proved your passion and completed your first day of duty. You have made us very proud and thrilled.”

She added, “This evening your grandparents are coming to bless you for your achievement.”

In the evening, Sushma’s grandparents arrived and blessed her wholeheartedly. After a delicious dinner and pleasant conversation, they prepared to leave. Before departing, her grandfather told her, “Tomorrow a young man named Ramnath will come to meet you.”

The next day, Ramnath, a smart and confident young man, visited her. He introduced himself as a Feature Editor for a leading international journal. He said he wanted to cover Sushma’s inspiring ambition and achievement.

They had a pleasant discussion, and he took a few photographs for the article. After some time, he thanked her and left.

After he left, Sushma felt a strange happiness in her heart. She wondered if it was a small crush on him. She could not express it, but she noticed that he had given his phone number before leaving. She thought she might speak to him later.

Meanwhile, Ramnath too felt the same warmth and admiration for Sushma. But he felt shy and wondered what she might think about him.

Both were dedicated professionals, deeply focused on their careers. Whether they would speak again and whether their dreams and ambitions would grow together—only God knew.

For Sushma, it felt like double joy: the blessing of visiting the great Lord at the temple on her first day of duty, and the unexpected meeting with a handsome and thoughtful young man recommended by her grandfather. Somewhere in her heart, she felt that this meeting might be the beginning of something beautiful.
