Small Story 543
Dual Prayers
Rameshan was waiting for his friends to arrive for prayer. Five of them came to his apartment to join him. The prayer was mainly for a young boy from their adopted home who was going to undergo a major operation the next day. They all prayed sincerely that the surgery would be successful.
At the same time, they also decided to pray for the safety of innocent people affected by the recent military operations carried out by the United States and Israel in Iran. They prayed for the protection of all people, regardless of religion, and for the safety of migrant workers so that they could return safely to their home countries.
After praying together for ten minutes, Rameshan’s wife served tea and vada to everyone who had gathered. The small group shared the refreshments and felt peaceful after the prayer. They had prayed wholeheartedly for both situations before leaving with full hearts.
After the guests left, Mrs. Rameshan whispered to her husband, “These joint prayers not only make us happy, but they also unite people.”
Rameshan nodded and replied softly, “True, dear.”
