Small Story 531.

Small Story 531 Designation Has Changed Radhika joined a well-known online group last year. Within a year, her articles were widely appreciated by the group’s 60,000-plus members. Nearly 80 percent of the members had liked her posts since she joined, which reflected both the quality of her writing and the active participation within the group. One day, Radhika received a message from the group administrator offering her the role of Moderator. Radhika, who had completed her degree in Communication and Journalism two years earlier, was delighted. She was about to reply when she received an unexpected call. It was her friend Vasanthy calling from Boston. “Hey, how are you?” Vasanthy asked. Radhika was surprised to receive a call at that hour from her friend, who was also the Editor-in-Chief of a leading publication company. “I’m fine! How are you? How are your husband Ram and your son Tejas?” Radhika replied. “All are fine,” Vasanthy said. “I called to tell you that we are expanding our division, and I have recommended you as the Lead Editor for our Denver branch, which will be launched soon. Please send me your biodata and passport details. In three months, you will be in Denver.” Radhika was overwhelmed. On one hand, she felt honored to be offered the Moderator position in the popular group. On the other hand, this new opportunity as Lead Editor was a major step forward in her career. She realized she would not be able to manage both responsibilities. She thanked the group administrator for his kind offer and explained her situation. He was very happy about her new assignment and congratulated her with a warm message shared with all the members. The group members were delighted by her success and showered her with good wishes. Radhika sent her details to Vasanthy, and her parents were thrilled about her new position. As she settled into her seat for the journey to Denver, she whispered to herself, “I was once offered a Moderator position in a popular group. Today, I am taking charge as Lead Editor in a multinational publication. My group has truly been my lucky charm.” Her designation had changed—but her passion for writing remained the same.
