Friendship, Unexpected Encounters, and a Favourite Editor

Chandini arrived in Chennai from Bengaluru by car to meet her old friend Nisha at a newly opened, spacious restaurant in Anna Nagar. The two friends had studied together in college and later built successful careers in event management. Through their hard work, dedication, and creativity, both had achieved considerable success in Dubai.

However, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the escalating crisis had forced Nisha to return to her hometown, Chennai. She was now helping her father manage his advertising agency. Although she had not yet made up her mind about returning to Dubai, she continued to face the challenges of the situation with courage and determination.

Chandini, meanwhile, continued to run her own event management establishment successfully, despite the difficulties and uncertainties in the industry.

As soon as Chandini parked her car and stepped out, Nisha warmly welcomed her. Both friends were delighted to meet after a long time. They settled down comfortably in the restaurant and began reminiscing about their college days, sharing happy memories and discussing their professional experiences. They also enquired about each other's families and future plans.

Both friends had one daughter each, and both daughters were pursuing their college education. The conversation brought back many pleasant memories and strengthened their bond of friendship.

After enjoying delicious snacks and sweets at the restaurant, Nisha invited Chandini to her home to meet her parents. Chandini gladly accepted the invitation and accompanied her.

Nisha's father and mother welcomed Chandini affectionately and were delighted to see her again. They enquired about her family, her daughter's education, and her professional achievements. They also wished Chandini and her daughter a bright and successful future.

Chandini had thoughtfully brought along some delicious homemade sweets prepared by her mother the previous day. She presented them to Nisha's parents, who appreciated the gesture and thanked her warmly.

After spending nearly an hour chatting with the family, Chandini decided it was time to leave. Just then, the calling bell rang.

Nisha went to open the door and was pleasantly surprised to see one of her father's old friends, a well-known and respected editor in the film industry. She welcomed him warmly and introduced him to everyone present.

The editor greeted the family and took a seat on the sofa. Chandini also joined the conversation and listened with great interest as he shared his experiences, professional insights, and valuable knowledge of the film industry.

His depth of knowledge, versatility, and engaging manner impressed Chandini immensely. As an experienced event management professional, she immediately recognised the value of his expertise. She thought that his presence and insights would be a great asset to a special event she was planning in Dubai.

Seizing the opportunity, Chandini politely invited him to participate in an upcoming event programme in Dubai. The editor responded positively and agreed to consider the invitation, provided she gave him sufficient advance notice to plan his schedule.

Chandini was delighted by his response. After exchanging a few more pleasantries, she took leave of the family.

Before departing, she turned to Nisha's father and said with a smile, “Thank you very much, Uncle, for introducing me to such a knowledgeable and versatile editor. I am sorry I forgot to ask his name!”

Nisha's father smiled mysteriously and whispered, “Mr. Urs.”

For a moment, Chandini stood speechless. Her eyes widened with astonishment, and she could hardly believe what she had just heard.

**Mr. Urs was none other than her favourite editor in the film industry!**

She had admired his work and respected his professional achievements for a long time. Yet, quite unexpectedly, she had met him in the familiar surroundings of her friend's home and had even invited him to participate in her Dubai event without initially realising who he was.

What had begun as a simple reunion with an old college friend had turned into an unforgettable encounter.

Chandini left the house with a heart full of happiness and excitement. She was grateful for the friendship that had brought her there and thrilled by the unexpected opportunity to meet a person she had admired for years.
