Vaigarai Sangamam – An Educative Programme on Food, Feelings, and Relationships953.
Today’s programme at Vaigarai Sangamam was centred on the interesting and relevant topic of “Food, Feelings, and Relationships.” The session was presented wonderfully by the award-winning, versatile writer and Assistant Manager, Muthulakshmi. Her thought-provoking presentation was highly informative and meaningful in the context of our modern lifestyle.
Her example of Lord Shiva visiting Anbapoorana in search of food because of His hunger was particularly interesting. It beautifully highlighted the importance of food in our lives. Food is not merely something that satisfies our hunger; it is also closely connected with our emotions, culture, health, and relationships.
Her explanation of the importance of consuming food according to our body's nutritional and calorie requirements was very informative. The scientific insights she shared about the connection between food and health were admirable. Her comparison of traditional dietary practices with modern food habits was particularly relevant to today's generation.
She clearly explained the need to avoid excessive consumption of fatty foods and to adopt healthy eating habits. Her point that prevention is better than cure, and that nutritious food can help us maintain good health and reduce the risk of illness, was well presented.
The importance of eating seasonal foods for better digestion and overall well-being was another valuable point. She also highlighted the significance of our traditional South Indian dishes and their place in a balanced diet. Her advice to be cautious about heavily advertised food products, avoid foods containing harmful chemicals, and prefer fresh produce and food sourced directly from farmers was practical and convincing.
The central message of the programme was that food, feelings, and relationships are closely interconnected. Good food habits contribute to physical health, positive feelings, and harmonious relationships. This was an excellent topic for today's lifestyle, when many people are increasingly dependent on processed foods and modern eating habits.
The contributions of the other participants were also appreciable. In particular, Kalyanasamaiyal sadam's participation added further value to the discussion.
Overall, Vaigarai Sangamam continues to provide an excellent platform for learning, sharing knowledge, and gaining useful insights into everyday life. Today’s programme was truly educative, thought-provoking, and relevant to everyone.
Congratulations to Muthulakshmi and the entire Vaigarai Sangamam team for organising such a meaningful and informative session!
