Small Story 765
A Joyful LunchMeeting and a Special Blessing
Ranjitha was extremely happy that day. Her friend, a journalist and television anchor, was visiting her home with her husband, Prasanna, a pharmaceutical executive. Although they had been married for two years, Ranjitha had not been able to invite them home earlier because of their busy work schedules and other commitments.
At last, the long-awaited visit had been arranged. They were coming for lunch along with Prasanna’s mother, Kotha.
When the three guests arrived, Ranjitha’s mother warmly welcomed them and invited them to sit comfortably on the sofa.
Kaadhambari, who had recovered completely and was now well settled in Mysore, was also present. Her professional responsibilities required her to travel frequently to the company’s headquarters in Dubai.
As soon as the guests entered the living room, they were captivated by the beautifully arranged Navaratri Golu, with its colourful dolls, attractive decorations, and sparkling lights. The entire display looked magnificent, and all three admired it with great enthusiasm.
Ranjitha’s mother explained, “This is the first time we have arranged a Golu in our home. We were so delighted by the experience that we have decided to continue this tradition every year. Over the past five days, I have felt a special divine presence in our home. It is difficult to explain, but the atmosphere has been wonderfully peaceful and positive.”
Kotha nodded in agreement.
“You are absolutely right,” she said. “There is something special about this arrangement. Every doll seems to have a story to tell, and every part of the display is beautiful. The lights make the entire setting even more divine.”
The guests spent some time admiring the dolls and took several photographs to preserve the happy memories of their visit.
After enjoying the Golu, they proceeded to the dining hall for lunch. Ranjitha’s mother had prepared a delicious spread of dishes, followed by three varieties of sweets. Everything was prepared with great affection and care. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal and complimented her on the excellent food.
Just then, Ranjitha received a phone call from her husband, Pravin, who was in Mumbai on work.
“Have all the guests arrived?” he asked.
“Yes, everyone is here, and we are having a wonderful time,” Ranjitha replied.
Prasanna, who was nearby, thanked Pravin for remembering them and arranging everything so thoughtfully.
Pravin responded cheerfully, “How could I ever forget my favourite Professor Ram’s disciple? Please take good care of yourselves and enjoy the occasion. I hope to catch up with all of you sometime soon.”
His affectionate words brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
After lunch, the guests spent another half an hour chatting and exchanging pleasant memories. Before leaving, they presented gifts to Ranjitha’s family and handed over boxes of sweets as a token of their affection.
As they prepared to depart, Ranjitha expressed her happiness.
“Today has been a truly special day for me. Ever since your wedding two years ago, I have wanted to invite you both home for lunch. Somehow, circumstances never worked out. I am so happy that my wish has finally come true today.”
Kaadhambari smiled and replied, “Everything happens at the right time. As my dad always says, we must have patience and trust that the right moment will eventually come.”
Kotha then looked affectionately at Ranjitha and blessed her.
“May God bless you, Ranjitha! I hope you will soon share some wonderful news with all of us.”
Ranjitha’s mother immediately added with a knowing smile, “Yes, I think that happy moment is not far away.”
Everyone understood what she meant. Their eyes turned towards Ranjitha, who blushed with happiness.
The visit ended on a joyful note, filled with affection, blessings, and the promise of a beautiful new chapter in Ranjitha’s life.
Sometimes, a long-awaited gathering brings more than happiness; it brings blessings, strengthens relationships, and fills hearts with hope for the future.
