Chasing anxiety                 Article Published in The Gulf Today,Uae on 9 March 13 (292).

The other day while conversing with a friend over the phone, another acquaintance wished me. I also greeted him and continued my talk on the phone.

My friend on the telephone mentioned that many people, including his uncle, were following me on Twitter. I thanked him for “chasing” me on the social websites.

The visitor who was listening to our conversation got anxious and asked me why people were chasing me and whether I had taken a loan from anyone. We had a good laugh after I explained about followers on social networking sites.

Chavez changed Venezuelans' lives      Letter published  in The National,Uae on 8 March 13
It was sad to read about the death of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez (Champion of the poor who polarised a nation, March 7).
Although Chavez did not transform his country as per expectations regarding infrastructure projects, he changed the lives of many Venezuelans.
His death was a great loss to the people. I hope the country's new leader works for the betterment of Venezuelans.

School stress too much for students   Letter Published in The National,Uae on 6 March 13.
The stress is really on education now (March 3) is very true.
Studying has become much more stressful in India.
More than the students themselves, it's the parents whose aspirations are often unrealistic.
The Lancet's revelation about the high number of student suicides is sad. While no one can give the exact reason why an individual takes his or her life, stress must have been a factor in many cases.

Fair with elders  Article Published in The Gulf Today on 2 March 13 (291).

The other day I travelled in a Bangalore city bus and offered the fare for my destination to the conductor. To my surprise, he returned some coins. When I asked the conductor why he had returned some coins, he replied, “You are a senior citizen. You are entitled to some concession.” I felt happy that elderly people are respected.
