Tribute to actor,Politician Malavalli Huchche Gowda Amarnath 533

Tribute to Actor and Politician Malavalli Huchche Gowda Amarnath (Ambareesh)860 Today, I am writing about an iconic figure from the South Indian Film Industry – the late actor and politician, Malavalli Huchche Gowda Amarnath, popularly known by his screen name, Ambareesh. He began his career with the famous director Puttanna Kanagal's film Nagarahavu, where he played a negative role. Later, he transitioned into a hero and became one of the most versatile actors of his time. His impact on both cinema and politics was significant. Ambareesh's contribution to the film industry cannot be overstated. He acted in over 200 films, and his performances earned him a lasting place in the hearts of moviegoers. Among his notable works are Nagarahavu, Priya, Antha, Chakravyuga, and Hrudaya Haadithu. The film Antha, directed by Rajendra Singh Babu, catapulted him to stardom. Apart from his film career, Ambareesh was also a respected politician. He was elected three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Mandya constituency and served as a minister in the government of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Known for his non-controversial nature, Ambareesh was loved by people from all political parties and made a considerable impact on his constituency, Mandya, with his efforts and initiatives for its development. Ambareesh's personality was a mix of charm and strength. He was known for his smart, smiling, and tough appearance, but it was his kindness and humility that endeared him to his fans and the people of Mandya. Though he is no longer with us, his memorable films and legacy in politics continue to live on. Today, I feel privileged to pay tribute to this legendary figure whose contributions to both cinema and society will never be forgotten. K.Ragavan 2018 -

Reintroduce
Cheque drop box
In Mantri Tranquil apartments,in Gubbalala area there is an ICICI bank ATM kiosk.Earlier there was also a cheque drop box here. This was very helpful for the residents, especially for senior citizens.
However ,for more than a year now,the bank has removed the cheque drop box.We requested the bank authorities a couple of times to reintroduce the box but in vain.So we again request the authorities concerned to reintroduce the cheque drop box in the interest of senior citizens.

Letter Published in The National UAE on 26 Nov 18The high-fashion advert that left a sour taste for many
I write with reference to your excellent editorial piece Globalisation is never an invitation to mock other cultures(November 23). This article was well-written and both meaningful and thought-provoking.
In the globalised world of branded items, fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana wield great influence over consumers around the world.
Culture and tradition are vitally important to people’s identities and it is possible to participate and enjoy the cultures of others within certain boundaries.
However, you do have to remember where you are, and negatively portraying another nationality or their eating habits in your advertisements is far from palatable. I am glad they apologised and removed the advert.

Letter Published in The National UAE on 25 Nov 18 Karachi attacks will not help terrorists achieve their aims   I have just read your article Pakistan militants attack Chinese Consulate in Karachi (November 24). This brutal attack, carried out by Balochistan separatists in the port city Karachi, is to be condemned.Terrorists and militants targeting innocent people of other nationalities in their embassies and consular buildings is absolutely unacceptable. The assault was claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Army. Three attackers arrived at the consulate in a car filled with explosives.Pictures of the attack posted on social media outlets showed smoke rising from the surrounding area. The reason for this attack may be the fear of the militants that the Chinese, along with Pakistan’s military, are suppressing their ambition for a separate state.Killing innocent people will not yield their desired result. This is a sad state of affairs indeed.K Ragavan, Bengaluru
