Your article, ‘Double tragedy hits expat family’ (KT/ Sept 28) was very painful and sad to read. It is indeed unfortunate that first their six-year- old boy and later the mother fell down.
Many incidents like this have happened earlier in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Parents should never leave their children alone near the windows. Flats should provide grills to avoid such type of accidents. The Municipality should check all the flats and see that all the windows have been fitted with grills.

Lovable ‘Tiger’Article Published in The Gulf Today,UAE on 1.Oct.11.(219).
Men may come and men may go but some personalities remain etched in our memory forever. Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, popularly known as ‘Tiger’ Pataudi, who passed away last week, is one such celebrity I can never forget.
A stylish and successful captain of the Indian cricket team decades ago, he made a remarkable impact on us those days. Most importantly, he recorded this achievement with just one eye as he had lost the other in an accident. Add to this he was a benevolent human being too.

The news story titled, ‘Chidambaram offers to quit’ (KT/ Sept 27) was interesting to read. The recent allegations on the Indian Home Minister regarding his involvement in the 2G Scam, as per the office memorandum from the present Finance Ministry.
His resignation offer was refused by the Party Chief Sonia Gandhi. However this allegation should be sorted out once the touring Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns. One by one, varied allegations are coming out which is not a good sign for the UPA government and will be a threat to them for the rest of their tenure.

Fog and rain are the attributing factor of this incident.Fifty Percent of the Victims from Tamilnad,Indian statewas painful.IPray for the Victims.

This is in reference to the demise of Pataudi — it was sad and painful to read. He was one of the most stylish batsmen I have come across — he led the Indian cricket team for many years. He was also the youngest captain of the Indian team. This is a great loss for cricket. May his soul rest in peace.
