Small Story 701.

 Small Story 701.

Life Is Beautiful – 46

That evening, Ram took out the card Ranjitha had given him. He was amazed to learn that she was an Investigation Officer at the famous Academy OOI, a globally recognized institution founded a decade ago in Mysuru by its architect, Paramanand, a former RAW Chief.

Ram had read about the institute earlier and was pleased to learn that Ranjitha worked there. He was even happier to know that she and her chief appreciated his article. The unexpected connection made him curious about the Academy and its activities.

A week later, on a Sunday morning, Ram thought of visiting the Sri Ramakrishna Ashram. The ashram was well known for its spiritual atmosphere and for the philosophical teachings conducted there. It was also very close to his home. Ram had always loved the divine ambience of the place and cherished every opportunity to interact with the esteemed Swamijis.

The locality where Ram lived was a well-developed and peaceful residential area. Over the years, he had personally witnessed the remarkable growth of the neighbourhood. Ever since he had been transferred to Mysuru for work, he had settled down comfortably there. He had even purchased a good two-bedroom apartment and was enjoying a peaceful and contented life.

Whenever Ram thought of Vasanthi, memories of the many places they had visited together came flooding back. He remembered their conversations, laughter, and the beautiful moments they had shared. Though life had moved forward, those memories still occupied a special place in his heart.

In general, the people of Mysuru were soft-spoken, courteous, and deeply devoted to God. Ram had always admired the calm and peaceful nature of the city. His neighbours, too, were warm and friendly towards him, and he had gradually become a familiar and respected member of the community.

As Ram walked towards the ashram that Sunday morning, he felt a deep sense of peace. Yet, somewhere in his mind, the name Ranjitha and the mysterious Academy OOI kept returning.

He wondered whether his meeting with Ranjitha was merely a coincidence—or whether it was the beginning of something that would change the course of his life.

To be continued...
