Life Is Beautiful – 61
At the reception area near the entrance, a female member of the staff warmly welcomed Ram.
“Welcome to Dubai, Mr. Ram! And welcome to our television channel.”
Ram was very pleased that she addressed him by name and with such respect.
“Please have some tea, Mr. Ram. Mr. Atkinson will be here in another five minutes.”
A little later, someone brought Ram a cup of tea. Usually, Ram drank tea only in the mornings and evenings. However, in appreciation of the hospitality of his hosts, he accepted the tea. As he began to drink it, he noticed that it was delicious and carried the pleasant aroma of cardamom.
About ten minutes later, a staff member came and asked Ram to accompany him to Mr. Atkinson’s office.
Ram entered the CEO’s office. The sight that greeted him was truly impressive. The beautifully arranged sofas, the elegant surroundings, the backdrop displaying different countries, and the decorations representing the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates—all of these gave the room a unique sense of grandeur and beauty.
“It is a great pleasure to meet you, Mr. Ram,” Atkinson said warmly. “Please have a seat.”
Ram sat on the sofa opposite him.
Looking at Atkinson, Ram was reminded of James Bond films. Atkinson had an intelligent and distinguished personality. His tall and impressive appearance, the elegance befitting a senior executive, and his exceptionally pleasant voice—all of these made him stand out.
Ram, too, felt completely relaxed and comfortable in that beautiful setting.
“Have you visited Dubai before?” Atkinson asked.
“No, Mr. Atkinson. This is my first visit to Dubai,” Ram replied.
“Is that so? Tell me a little about yourself.”
“I worked as a teacher for twenty-eight years, teaching English and History. Later, I took voluntary retirement and settled in the beautiful city of Mysore.”
“Oh, that’s wonderful,” Atkinson said. “Tell me about your family and children.”
Ram smiled.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Atkinson. I’m not married. I have created a beautiful world of my own, and I am living my life happily.”
“Wonderful, Mr. Ram! I sincerely admire your decision. When we approach life with the right attitude, it can truly become beautiful. Only a few people have the courage to make a decision like yours. Even fewer have the confidence and strength of mind to live by that decision and prove that it works. I truly admire your approach to life.”
