Flu impact

Falling sick can both be the worst and the best period. It is the best period as everyone around you gives you extra attention and care. It is the worst as it disrupts your daily routine, and ultimately forces you to stay at home. 

Recently, a viral flu stuck me coupled with terrible body pain, high fever and excessive cough. As a result, I was unable to follow my normal routine of going for evening walks as well as meeting my friends.  

Although it was nice to be at home and being cared for was amazing, I terribly missed my daily activities. Finally, when I did return, my joy had no boundaries.

Next day Morning Ram received a call from Vasanthy.

Ram.I am fine.How are you.
Vasanthy.I am also fine.Why i called you this morning is We can finalize the Wedding date of Prasanna and Kathambari.
Ram.Good news.Which date
Vasanthy.November 8 I fixed  the date.
Ram.So early
Vasanthy.The availability of the Indian Auditorium  was only on 8November.After that two months full.
Ram.Oh My God
Vasanthy.I  booked tickets for Prasanna's Mother,Raj,Murthy ,Srivatsava  for the wedding.
Ram.Lovely ,so fast
Vasanthy.Yes,Shankar Mahadevan has confirmed his availability on 8Nov.
Ram.Great,
Vasanthy.Regarding Cook i told Venus restaurant people.For Four hundred people
Ram.You have done the arrangements very fast.I appreciate that.

Ali came in time and dropped Ram in the office.

Ram.Yes,i got  the information from Prasanna.
Atkinson.Also i received the  invitation from Kathambari's mother  on Thursday for Discussions

Atkinson.Her wedding date.
Ram.Nice.We will go on that day
Atkinson.Have a Nice day.
After his call Ram was  thinking the fast actions taken by Vasanthy on Kathambari 's wedding date arrangements.He always like her decisions and actions.He was also thinking with proud of his Beautiful Vasanthy.

Today i remembered another interesting film personality rom Indian film industry is none other than Editor Suresh Urs.He has edited more than 700 films  of four languages viz,Tamil,Kannada,Hindi and Konkani  is worth to be mentioned here.He was associated with top class Directors Like,Mani Ratnam,Girish karnad,T.S.Nagha bharana,P.Vasu,Bala and Charan. and given memorable movies.He was bestowed  Best Editor for Bombay and Thiruda Thiruda films.I have seen few remarkable movies of this Editor.Those movies are,Thalapathy,Roja,Bombay,Thiruda Thiruda,Kalki,Aahaa,,MinsaraKanavu,Iruvar,Dilse (Hindi)Mugavaree,Amarkalam,Nandha,Minnaley and few i have for gotten.Indian film Editors are acclaimed in all languages for their brilliant work.Suresh Urs is one of the talented Editors that we have today.Today i am very happy to tribute this Wonderful Editor.I am writing this Column with my little knowledge. I recently met a friend at a shopping complex in Bengaluru city. He is an electric train driver who lives in Chennai and we met after nearly four years. 

While talking, he recollected a funny incident I had written about years ago in a local newspaper. I was happy and told him that he not only minds the trains, but also trains his mind. 

When I mentioned that I remembered how well he drew cartoons, he giggled. There is nothing like a sincere appreciation to spice up one’s day, right?

The opinion piece on Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s President, was an interesting read (“Buhari has failed Nigerian Women”, Gulf News, October 19). The newly elected government in Nigeria has completely failed on its promises for reforms as well encouraging women’s participation. The Nigerians need security in life, safety and more women participation in politics. Will Buhari overcome these hurdles and win the confidence of the Nigerian people? We will have to wait and see.

Kathambari.Today  i received a mail from Lizioli.He is coming to Dubai on  Thursday.

Ram.Good news.He has also not visited  Dubai for long time.

Kathambari.Yes,I also received a call from Prasanna confirming about his arrival.

Ram.Good.What you would like to have

Kathambari.Tea ,i do n't mind.

Ram called the messenger.He brought tea.

After the tea  Kathambari left  to her division.

Ram was checking his  morning mails.He has  received few mails from Raj and Murthy.

After that Ram was  concentrating his Work.

After noon he went to Karama  Venus restaurant with Driver Ali.While coming to office he received a call from Ravi

Good after noon Sir,.I came home  for lunch.While returning i saw you

Ram.Thank you Ravi.After finishing my lunch i am returning to my office.

First of all, let me congratulate the 70 years of the UN Security Council on October 24. They have to change their policies and strategy for better global understanding. Security, child abuse, refugee migration, poverty and environment are the key issues to look into. They should invite new permanent members like India.

Terrorism is a global threat and the international community should join together to eradicate this menace. I hope in the coming days the UN will set an example.

Kutty,Red,Kurumbu,Yuva, Aayutha eluthu,Pattial,,Pizza,Saguni.Dil chatha hai (Hindi).Many films i am unable to remember.Today he is one of the top ranking Editors in the Indian film industry respected by one and all from the film fraternity. Today i am very happy to tribute this talented Editor.

While I was still working, I had the good fortune of making some friends who were witty in their approach. As a result of such friendship, I had been given an interesting nickname. My friends would often introduce me to their associates with that nickname, not my real name. 

Most people would be surprised and wonder if I were a celebrity. Then my friends would explain how the nickname was given and it kind of stuck. The nickname was “Gemini.” Interestingly, that was also the name of a famous Tamil film star of the yesteryears. 

Nicknames are fun, especially the ones that are made to tease you. I am sure most of you out there might have such fun nicknames too, if not it’s never too late...

The recent terrorist attack in Turkey brought the number of casualties up to 86 last week (‘Twin blasts rock Ankara’, Gulf News, October 11). What happened last Saturday was condemned. The attack was done by Syria and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in the railway station. Will Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s appeal to the people for solidarity and peace happen? Terrorism is highly unacceptable and the entire globe is facing the same struggle. I hope in the coming days, the world-famous tourist destination will come to normalcy and the people will carry on with their day-to-day routine without fear.

After two days Ram was moving towards Emirates Terminal to see Murthy off.Heavy traffic was there.Cars and buses are moving slowly.Driver Ali,Sir ,What time the flight.
Ram.Another two hours is there.I never expected this.What is the reason for this traffic.
Ali.I think UAE army brought the bodies of Martyrs from Yemen.
Ram.You are right,i read it in the paper.They are brave soldiers sacrificed  their life to their mother land UAE.
Ali.Correct Sir.Different type of age groups
Ram.UAE is doing a great honour for this Martyrs.
Ali.I think now cars are moving faster,ope we will reach before the departure.
Finally they reached.Murthy and Prasanna was waiting for Ram
Ram.At last i reached. This Pocket you can give to Raj.
Murthy.Sure.Hope to see you in Prasanna's Marriage.

By that time the announcement came for the passengers.

After that Ram took Prasanna with him droped his flat and came to his flat.
After few minutes watching the T.V he went to kitchen to prepare for the night dinner.He took some bread slices and Salads started watching T.V for some more time
which he is more fond of in the night.
By the time his phone was ringing. Ravi is on the other line.
Mr Ram coming friday  we are performing Satyanarayan Pooja in our house.My parents wanted to asked me to invite you and your friends.
Ram.O.K.What time the pooja starts.
Ravi.Eleven '0'Clock in the morning.
Ram.Thank you.I will be there.
After that Ram finished his night dinner
Again his phone was ringing.Murthy from the airport was calling
Ram,we would have spent some more time.The flight was delayed by one hour due to some problems.This is the first time it has happend in Emirates.
Ram.True.Some  times The Finest in The Sky  will also be delayed

Great progress

A few days ago, a friend who is working in the UAE completed two decades of service in the same company. He wrote a mail mentioning his long association with me even though I had to return to India from the UAE a couple of years ago. 

I still remember when he landed in Dubai, I had gone to the airport to receive him. 

What makes me very happy is the fact that while my friend progressed well in his job, the UAE too has made huge strides and is now a globally talked-about tourist destination.

The shooting incident that took place in Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, US and killed 10 injured was a sad read (‘10 killed in US school massacre’, Gulf News, October 3). The cause of this incident is not understood, however this shooting is condemned. Shootings are a common feature in the US and US President Barack Obama’s administration is fighting against the gun culture. The US government should act immediately so that in future these type of incidents can be avoided. I pray for the victims.

Today, in the global scenario, you hear a lot about cancer and it seems to be more visible among women. Even though I don’t know anyone who is battling cancer, some of my friends have mentioned about their loved ones battling the illness. In my opinion, awareness is the most important and governments should work with organisations to host periodical programs to check for different types of cancer. Many people have beaten the illness, with the help of treatment and advanced drugs. Drug manufacturers who are producing cancer drugs should consider affordability, though. It’s good that October is dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer.

Today i am going to pen another interesting film personality from  the Tamil film industry is none other than Cinematographer P.G.Muthiah.He has worked with Up coming Directors and Actors like Sreekanth Karthi,PrakashRaj,Radhika,Santhanam,Jai,,Parvathy Menon,GanjaKarupu and many others. Even though he hs contributed few films all are remarkable.  His frame work both in indoor and out door is very good.I have seen only two films of this Cinematographer.Those films are,Poo and Saguni.Saguni he has done a Wonderful work both indoor and out door.He is one of the talented Upcoming Cinematographers in the Tamil film Industry who has got bright future. I have been repeatedly mentioning in my column today Tamil film   Industry has got talented technicians particularly Cinematography.Today i am very happy to tribute this  Cinematographer.

After reading your article Netanyahu says he wants to resume talks with Palestinians ‘immediately’(October 2). I believe that this is one of the most dramatic developments to happen in recent Middle East politics.

That the Israeli prime minister said that he would resume talks is significant but he must act on his promise.

Will honest peace negotiations ever happen between Israel and the Palestinians? That is the question we all want answered soon.

Sportive spirit

My grandson called me one evening and asked me to rush home. He wanted me to accompany him to a doctor to heal the wounds that he had sustained while playing basketball. I took him to our family orthopaedic specialist. 

His right leg had swollen up and he was in a lot of pain. 

The doctor treated him and advised that it’s best to avoid playing for four weeks. 

But, the following morning I saw my grandson back in college completely ignoring the pain. He refused to let the injury or pain stop him from attending his college. 

Sports injuries come and go if they are not major, we must resume our life normally.
