Letter Published in The National UAE on 22Jan 20From its former glory, Iraq has seen much tragedy in the past decades
With reference to Mina Aldroubi’s report Six killed in Iraq as protests escalate over lack of reform (January 20): adding to the ongoing crisis in Iraq, this latest clash between demonstrators and security forces has caused a horrific six deaths.
Ever since the fall of the former dictator Saddam Hussein, Iraq and its people have suffered at the hands of internal and external terror groups. Still, the international community has not come out with a concrete solution for the future of Iraq. I hope in the coming days the people of Iraq are taken care of by the administration. But whether it will be able to secure a future for Iraqis free of violence remains to be seen.
