Today i remembered another interesting film personality from the South Indian Film Industry is none other than actress Sowcar Janaki. In her seven decades film career She has acted more than 400 films of four languages viz,Tamil,Telugu,Kannada and Malayalam is laudable.She acted with all the top Heros viz,late Sivaji Ganesan,Gemini Ganesh,A.V.M.Rajan,Srikanth, and leading Telugu and Kannada Heros is worth to be mention here.She acted as Heroine in many films and established her identity.If i am right from 1949 to 1975 she was in peak and created a big impact is not an exaggerated one.After that she has become a versatile actress in all roles and made a big name.She was bestowed many awards viz,TamilNadu State Film Award for Iru Kodugal ,Rajyotsava AWard from Karnataka Government,Simha Award,Kalaimamani Award and many more awards.I have seen many films of this talented lady and few remarkable films i remember always.Those films are,IruKodugal,Uyarntha Manithan,Puthiya Paravai,Ethir Neechal.Bhama Vijayam,Pavai Vilakku,Kumudam,Annai,KaduvulaiKandean,Akka Thangai BhagyaLakshmi,Kasthuri .Paar Magaley paar.
Maanavan,Thunaivan,Needhi,Sivbi and many i could n't recollect.In iru kodugal she lived in the Collector character and her dialogue delivery was superb.In Uyarntha Manithan her disciplinary action i still remember.She was associated with Late Stalwart Balachander for many films.Thillu Mullu was another master piece film from this Versatile actress along with RajiniKanth and late Thengai srinivasan still in front of me.Seven decades of film career in various roles and stage career in the early days is amazing.I happened to meet her three occasions and amazed about her knowledge , and discipline A good friend of mine introduced her and still i keep in touch with her.She is a good friend ,Philosopher, guide .Conversationist of any subject mother and above all a wonderful human being.Recently few months back i saw her movie Thambi and delighted to see grandmother role with Karthik,SatyaRaj,and Jyothika.One of the Know ledgable,Versatile liked human being not only from the film fraternity as well from Millions of her fans.This column i am writing with my limited Knowledge and if there is any error kindly ignore.When ever i meet i call her Amma and she likes that magical word Amma.Today i am very happy to tribute this Versatile talented actress made a big impact in the film industry.
