Back to school – with no untoward incidents
With reference to the editorial Back to school safely is priority (August 28): This elaborated nicely the feeling at the beginning of a new academic term in the UAE. The main focus on minimising road accidents was important as too often brash driving can have grievous consequences. Nowhere in the world should going to school and returning from it be a dangerous exercise. Many incidents in the past have been a result of carelessness of drivers. Authorities are keen on smooth running and road safety reminders are a good initiative.

Tribute 781.
Tribute to ISRO Scientists 781
Today, I am compelled to pay tribute to the recent heroes who have brought India's name onto the global stage – none other than our talented and dedicated ISRO scientists. For any nation, the presence of knowledgeable individuals coupled with efficient delivery and strong administrative support is of paramount importance. India is fortunate to possess both knowledgeable scientists and supportive administrators, enabling us to soar high in the global arena.
On August 23rd, India etched its name in the space domain, evoking an indescribable sense of joy among its 1.4 billion citizens. As an Indian citizen, I deeply admire the unwavering dedication of these scientists and their remarkable commitment to Chandrayaan 3. I hold strong confidence that those associated with ISRO are being well-cared for and I have hope in their continued success.
Educated individuals and responsible citizens instill faith through their beliefs, and when led by a competent administrator, a nation is truly enriched. I take pride in my country being among those nations. Hats off to the ISRO scientists, and a resounding "Jai Hind."

LetterPublished in The National UAE on25 Aug23,India's cricket batting order looking good
With reference to the report KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer return to India squad for Asia Cup 2023 (August 21): This Asia Cup update was good news for the Indian side. Two prominent players who are under treatment are returning to the squad. This will bode well for the matches. Fans of both will be delighted to see them play. I too am an admirer of the two classic batsmen, even though of course other players make the squad powerful. Cricket is a game liked by the young and old, especially in South-Asian countries and a few western countries. Here's wishing the Indian squad all the best for the coming season and the all-important Cricket World Cup.

ISRO project directors
Chandraayan-1 : Mr Mayilsamy Annadurai, Tamil Nadu
Chandraayan-2: Ms M Vanitha, Tamil Nadu
Chandraayan-3: Mr P Veeramuthuvel, Tamil Nadu
πΊπΊπΊ
Veeramuthuvel is the son of Palanivelu, a railway employee from Villupuram district. He had a thirst for success in the space industry from an early age. After completing his vocational education, Veeramuthuvel studied in a private college in Tambaram and in IIT Chennai successively for vocational education, engineering and postgraduate research.
He did important research in the Aero-Space Department of IIT, Chennai and got an opportunity to become a scientist at ISRO in 1989. Veeramuthu Vel had a knack for tinkering with some intricate hardware work, which he learned from his diploma course.
In 2016, Veeramuthuvel's paper on vibration control in spacecraft electronics was tested at the UR Rao Satellite Center in Bengaluru. At that time, the technology was popular among ISRO scientists. Because this technology will help land a lander on the moon and operate a rover. Veeramuthu Vel's experimental effort, which won acclaim, also made him the Chandrayaan-3 Program Director.
Veeramuthuvel, who has worked in ISRO for the last 30 years in various responsibilities and projects, was appointed as the director of the Chandrayaan-3 project in 2019. Chandrayaan-3 was the brainchild of 29 Deputy Directors under Scientist Veeramuthu Vel, and countless other scientists and engineers under them. After more than four years of various studies and experiments, the Chandrayaan spacecraft has reached its full shape.
Veeramuthuvel, who is involved in all fields related to virtual technology, software and hardware, has spent the last two years in the laboratory. Tamils have already been project directors in Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2. Following this, the Chandrayaan-3 program also included a Tamil named Veeramuthuvel in the history of India's lunar journey.
Feel Proud of you Sri. Muthuvel ππΉπ
Great achievement.
The landing of Chandrayan 3 on the Moon was a great news for the 1-4 Billion IndianPeople.
Kudos to India and PrimeMinister NarendraModi.

Should be considered.
While I commend the remarkable advancements in various medical fields and the commendable service provided to the public by doctors, it's disheartening to observe that a significant number of them seem to overlook the importance of extending discounts to senior citizens. Additionally, numerous consultants have associated pharmacies to fulfill the needs of their patients, yet no concessions are offered to senior citizens or other patients. Given that many pharmacies readily provide a 20% discount, it raises the question as to why doctors are not extending similar considerations to their patients. This matter warrants attention, and it is advisable for doctors to reconsider their approach. My intention is not to offend anyone, but rather to highlight the potential for positive change.
All Private hospitals too follow this concept.

Modi's 90-minute speech covered a lot of ground
With regard to Taniya Dutta's article Modi says in Independence Day speech India has 'diversity and demography' to flourish (August 15): This was an interesting read. The Indian Prime Minister's lengthy speech on the country's 77th Independence Day was about many topics and he even briefly spoke on Manipur. He addressed the development in several fields. The progress in women’s empowerment, space technology and health among others is especially laudable and was good to hear.

Tribute to Mohan Rangachari (Crazy Mohan)
Today, I am compelled to pay tribute to a versatile personality from the South Indian TamilFilm Industry who established his identity in Stage, Film, and Philanthropy. This person is none other than the actor, playwright, and dialogue writer Mohan Rangachari, popularly known as Crazy Mohan. As an engineering graduate, his approach towards writing and acting in comedy characters during his early days later became his defining feature, which is truly admirable. His meaningful comedy dialogues made him immensely popular and even more beloved among his fans, earning him the nickname Crazy Mohan. He has been remembered and honored by many, and I, for my own satisfaction, want to feature him in my blogs in this tribute today. He received numerous awards and was well-regarded by leading actors and directors. His production company, Crazy Creations, was famous decades ago and had its own dedicated fan base, which is not an exaggeration. Beyond his writing endeavors, his philanthropic nature, particularly his support for kidney transplantation and other surgeries, is commendable. He was involved in the production of many films, stage plays, and serials, and was beloved by everyone in his friends' circle and the film fraternity; this is undeniable. Although he departed from us a few years ago, his remarkable creative work still stands before us. This individual will be remembered forever, and today, I am pleased to pay tribute to this legend.

Senior Citizens should be respected on their retirement.
Is it a crime to be a senior citizen in India?*
Senior citizens of India are not eligible for medical insurance after 70 years and they do not get credit on EMI. No driving license issued. They are not given any job for financial work. So they depend on others. He paid all taxes in his youth. Now even after becoming a senior citizen he has to pay all the taxes. There is no scheme for senior citizens in India. 50 percent discount in railways has also been stopped. The sad thing is that in politics a senior citizen is MLA, MP, Minister, they get everything, get pension, but we as senior citizens pay many kinds of taxes to government all our life and still no pension. In old age, imagine where else children will go if they cannot take care of them in old age (for some reason)? It is a terrible and painful thing. If the elders of the house get angry it will affect the election. And the government has to bear the consequences. Who will take care of senior citizens? Seniors have the power to change regimes, don'

More power in Delhi to the central government
With reference to Taniya Dutta's report India's Parliament passes bill to give Modi government more power in Delhi (August 08): The passing of this bill was opposed by the ruling Delhi administration as well as other opposition parties. Clearly, this will give more power to the Modi government to control Delhi's incumbent AAP party officials if they bypass norms and do things their own way. It's a smart move for Mr Modi.
Also, Ms Dutta’s other article elaborated how the opposition parties were blaming Mr Modi for not taking care of the Manipur violence. The prime minister is expected to respond to this soon. I hope this issue will be settled peacefully and that there won’t be any further warring of parties and use of unparliamentary words in parliament.

Recently I saw this Kannada movie and enjoyed the concept. The story reveals between 1960 and 1970 in old Bengaluru Jayanagar area nicely captured by the cinematographer AbhimanyuSadanandan. As if we are in that period picturaisation was nicely taken. Story about middle class family with their siblings . The father role played by Ashok done well and his ambition that one son must become a engineer was not fulfilled.story how the sisters getting married and the eldest sisterSuma has her own dreams shattered and later become a big business magnet was the turning point . Her dream of going to London was fulfilled with her own money of earning from Picklebusiness.Produced by Ashwini Puneeth Raj kumar of PRK productions and Gurunath Talwar on this subject is and initiative for this concept is laudable. Totally this movie has clicked nicely with story , crisp dialoques by Kanan Gil Trilok if I amright and with huge support from Senior citizens.Bindu Malini’s Music and mother Character Sudha Belawadi is worth mention. The effort taken by the young talented actress cum Director Sindhu Srinivasamurthy should be admirable. One of the sophisticated movie in the recent I saw . All actors and the young son Anirudh Acharya ‘s action was impressive. He has good future .

Tribute to Bangalore - Photos from a Bygone Age Group778
Wherever you live, the place you reside will inevitably captivate you for various reasons, and this is undoubtedly true for me. My current place of residence not only attracts me with its weather conditions but also its rich traditions and heritage. Recently, my good friend NJRavichander introduced me to a social group called "Bangalore - Photos from a Bygone Age," and it filled me with joy and excitement to see the old photos preserved and shared by the group members. The collection includes pictures of museums, educational institutes, film halls, playgrounds, and many other places, all of which are truly amazing to witness.
Having spent a total of twenty-two years in Karnataka state and over sixteen years in Emirates during my work between 1993 and 2009, I was particularly fascinated by the old pictures of film stalwarts, famous parks like Lalbagh and Cubbon Park, and other developments in Bangalore. The group also features images of renowned eateries, book stalls, and the prominent Kempegowda road and its surroundings, which beautifully present the city's past.
Above all, I deeply admire the interest, involvement, and dedication shown by the group members. The inclusion of old temple pictures is especially commendable, and it brings me immense joy to pay tribute to this group for keeping the memory of Bangalore, the beautiful garden city, alive forever.
