Today i remembered another interesting film personality who turned as a actor from direction and made a very big impact both in Direction and acting is none other than Manivannan.Started his career with Stalwart Bharathi Raja as a Writer ,later he become an independent director and created fifty films was not an exagerated one.He was associated with top class actors in his films particularly Satya raj is important.Known for his own identity in all roles .Particularly he has created a remarkable place in Comedy
roles and Character.I still remember his roll in Avvai Shanmugi as Mudaliar and many other films.His film Amaithi padai was a memorable one with Satyaraj.Few films of this doyen i haveseen those are Amaithi padai,Chinna thambi Peria thambi,Jallikattu,Ganam kortar avargaley,Gopurangal saivathilai,Pudhu mani than and Therku theru machan and some i have for gotten.He has proved himself a good director in tamil ,hindi and telugu languages.Above all he has proved himself a very good versatile actor.His dialoque delivery and presentation is superb.Incidently i was planning to write this talented director a few days back on this column but iwas shocked to see the T.V. news that he has departed from this world.Even though he is not with us today his remarkable films and his powerful dialoques is ringing in our ears.Apart from films he is a very good human being,non controversial person and above all he was fighting for the tamils in srilanka and wanted to take a film for them.Unfortunately he departed .Hope some Directors willfulfill his dreams.Today i am happy to tribute this talented stalwart .
