Letter Published in Gulf News UAE on 2Aug 17,An admirable resignation
The recent development in the Indian state Bihar, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation made a turning point in Indian politics (‘Nitish wins trust vote, opposition cries foul’, Gulf News, July 30). Just because of his deputy chief minister’s corruption allegations and no proper decision taken by him, Kumar has to take his decision to quit, because of his principles against corruption. Since his alliance, Congress’ high command has not taken action against the deputy chief minister, so Kumar taking this decision is highly admirable. In politics, one should be sincere without corrupt practices and Kumar is known for that. With this development now the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government will join him to continue the state for development without corruption. This development may bring Bihar and the future a new model for a corruption-free state.
