With reference to your editorial Charity is a gift that truly keeps giving (November 26), I found the article to be absolutely to the point.The philosophy of the late Founding Father of UAE, Sheikh Zayed, was that wealth should be utilised for the benefit of the people and to develop the nation to be the very best it can be.

Today the UAE is flourishing because of the vision and charitable nature inculcated by the late president. It has been followed by the present-day leaders and residents seeing real value in giving. Generosity is a sign of a healthy, happy, prosperous nation. The UAE’s philanthropic nature is indicative of this.
