She has announced an economic relief package for senior citizens and people who are likely to be hit the hardest due to the disruption brought by the pandemic. The relief package will provide a safety net to a lot of people. Around 800 million people will get free cereals and cooking gas apart from cash through direct cash transfers for the next three months. This is a humane approach, and such steps by the Indian government would likely help the poor tide over this hard time. Hope the deadly coronavirus disappears in the next three months and life can start coming back to normal.
