Your article, ‘Double tragedy hits expat family’ (KT/ Sept 28) was very painful and sad to read. It is indeed unfortunate that first their six-year- old boy and later the mother fell down.

Many incidents like this have happened earlier in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Parents should never leave their children alone near the windows. Flats should provide grills to avoid such type of accidents. The Municipality should check all the flats and see that all the windows have been fitted with grills.
