Artistes deserve credit and support as they add to the cultural vibrancy of any country. I was thrilled to hear that Indian playback singer, SP Balasubrahmanyam (SPB), who is well known for his work in South Indian films, is set to be honoured by the government for his five decades of singing over 40,000 songs in five languages.

SPB has mesmerised millions of audiences with his melodious voice.

Nothing soothes hearts in this volatile world better than music and hence artistes like SPB are always a cheer.
