I write in reference to your article UAE names 2019 the Year of Tolerance to reflect Zayed’s vision(December 16): Nick Webster’s article was a good read. The leadership of the UAE’s decision to pronounce 2019 the Year of Tolerance is an important move.
Clearly they intend to ensure the country reflects the vision of the late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed moving forward, throughout their other important objectives, from local and national development to maintaining regional peace.
The late President demonstrated the great qualities of visionary leadership during his tenure and no wonder those following him are committed, just as he was, to making the UAE a truly tolerant society.
