Letter Published in Khaleej Times UAE on 18Dec 18 Sikh community in India gets justice after 34 years This is in reference to the recent verdict of the Indian court convicting former politician Sajjan Kumar of the Congress party for his role in Sikh riots in 1984. He was earlier acquitted but now after reexamining the witnesses and a thorough investigation, the court has slapped life imprisonment on him. He played an imminent role in the Sikh riots that followed the assassination of prime minister Indra Gandhi on October 31, 1984.
