Letter.

Letter Published in The National UAE on 3Jan 19  I write with reference to your article Jair Bolsonaro takes office in Brazil (January 2). It offered a great deal of insight.
In spite of all the bad press he has reveived, I think that the recent dramatic change in Brazilian politics and the newly elected president Jair Bolsonaro’s inauguration in the capital could be good news for Brazilians.
The 63-year-old leader has promised to eradicate corruption, crime and to promote economic development, which has not been the focus of previous leaders of the country.
However, there are big questions about him too.
Will he deliver all his pledges to the people of Brazil? Will he take the country back to its old position of rising prosperity?
Only time will tell, but for now I say: “Kudos, Mr President.”
