Ram was taken aback when he saw the email—it was from a lady named Kathambari. In her message, she introduced herself as a television anchor based in Dubai. Ram had mentioned his email address in his articles and posts to invite readers' feedback and comments. After reading several of his articles, she felt inspired to write to him.

It was the first email Ram had ever received from a television personality living abroad in his fourteen years of writing. He was pleasantly surprised and naturally curious. He wondered who Kathambari was, how she had come to know about his work, and what had motivated her to reach out.
