The United Nations has taken a good initiative on the welfare and future of adolescent girls, which is being celebrated today. This year is the fourth international day for the girl child and this is laudable. In most countries, especially Asian countries, a girl child will be married at the age of 15 and many due to poverty will be forced into this. The girl child should be given opportunity if she studies well. If marriage is performed at an early age, it will lead to young pregnancies and this could affect her studies and future. Girls should not marry early and they should be encouraged to study because they are the future leaders of the world. Suppression and poverty will be eradicated by young girls who grow up wanting a better life for the younger generations. I am confident in the future of adolescent girls and how they will play a major role in the world in the years to come.
