Tribute to R.K.Films RajKapoor 687.

--- Tribute to R.K. Films - Raj Kapoor Today, I am going to write about one of the most iconic and memorable figures in the world of Indian cinema: Raj Kapoor, the renowned actor, producer, editor, and director of R.K. Films. Popularly known as the "Showman of Bollywood," he brought about a revolution in the film industry, which remains unmatched to this day. He was a visionary who worked with talented technicians who played key roles in his success. I still remember sound recordist Allauddin, the music director duo Shankar-Jaikishan, singer Mukesh, art director Rangaraj, and the wonderful cinematographer Radhu Karmakar. Raj Kapoor was known for his exceptional storytelling, picturization, songs, stunning outdoor locations, and glamour. Mukesh’s voice became synonymous with his films, as the singer lent his voice to Raj Kapoor in most of his movies. Kapoor was also the bridge that connected India and Russia, thanks to his magical films. His movies were a blend of fun and tragedy, and this unique combination became his trademark. In his four-decade-long career, Raj Kapoor directed and produced numerous films, many of which remain unforgettable. Some of the films I still remember are Sangam, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby, Dharam Karam, Prem Rog, Shree 420, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, and Sapno Ka Saudagar. If I recall correctly, Sapno Ka Saudagar was the film in which Hema Malini was introduced to the industry. Apart from his achievements as a producer and director, Raj Kapoor was also known for his humility and kindness. He respected his unit members, regardless of their designations. Over the years, he won numerous awards for his direction and contributions to cinema, both at national and international levels. He also introduced his sons, Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor, to Bollywood. Raj Kapoor’s films were known for their entertainment, music, and romance. Sangam, starring Rajendra Kumar, Raj Kapoor, and the glamorous Vyjayanthimala, gave a mesmerizing experience not just to Indian audiences, but also to the Russian audience. Though the Showman is no longer with us, his melodious songs and unforgettable films continue to live on in our hearts. Songs like Dost Dost Na Raha and Hum Tum Ek Kamre Mein Band Ho still ring in our ears, reminding us of the legacy he left behind. R.K. Films will always be remembered for its creations, and the founder, the legendary Showman, Late Raj Kapoor. Regards, K. Ragavan Nov15. 2021 --
