Letter Published in Gulf News UAE on 7Jan 15 ,Much work to do
India has witnessed many gang rape cases in the recent months and Nirbhaya’s brutal case from 2012 was among them (‘India still has a lot to do on women’s safety,’ Gulf News, January 3). Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurance of greater focus on women’s safety is a welcome one. India has been focusing on the importance of respecting women and their safety is an important issue that needs to be taken care of. Women must be able to move freely to carry on normal day-to-day tasks like attending work, without feeling like their life is in danger. Will Modi take on this issue?
