Intelligent kids

After finishing his studies at night, my grandson would often ask me to tell some story. He is fond of stories on investigations and I generally narrate that subject. After finishing the story last night, I asked him what was the moral of the story! 

He replied the moral was “robbery, investigation and, above all, your imagination.” While we laughed, I also realised that the modern kids are sharp in their observations.

The initiative of the famous search engine, Google’s, free internet and WiFi access on Mumbai, India trains is laudable (‘Mumbai train users log on as Google WiFi kicks in’, Gulf News, January 23). Google also intends to extend many stations and villages for internet facilities. This was implemented as per the promise of its CEO, Sundar Pichai in his recent visit to India. Already, Indians are acknowledged globally on their IT expertise. Now with the new internet access to all places, Indians will have better global accessibility in the future.

Tribute to Writer V.Annamala i (Imayam).387.

Today i am going to pen another interesting personality in Tamil literary world is none other than Annamalai ,Popularly known as Writer Imayam.Even though he has contributed few novels and short stories all are remarkable.His Koveru Kazuthaigal,master piece one was translated to english is worth to be here.This novel was complimented by many and  writer Sundara Ramaswamy's special  mention that no novel has equal to this in last 100 years was Commandable.Imayam has bestowed with many awards including Sahitya Akademi in tamil is important.I read Koveru Kazuthaigal and Arumugam.One more i have forgotten the name.He has been respected  by the Tamil writers. Like a mountain his novels are highly  liked by readers.Incidently his pen name was also Imayam (Mountain).Today i am happy to tribute this great writer.

Vaccines are important and should be used for children. The very common vaccines are polio, measles, mumps and rubella. Vaccines are safe and the side effects are low risk. Occasionally, anaphylactic reactions or allergic reactions have been reported. Today, many countries are administering polio vaccines to children as a preventive measure. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is monitoring the polio ratio on the global map. Any medicine will have side effects, but vaccines’ side effects are not reported as much. My opinion is that vaccines will help for a healthy environment, particularly in paediatrics.

I receivedrticle 439/. a call from a friend who had come on holiday from the UAE. He was the one who encouraged me to change my profession from pharmaceutical to risk management while I was in the UAE.

I was happy to hear his friendly voice after five years. I remembered many occasions when we went to famous hotels in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. Initially, I was reluctant to change my pharma profession to risk management. 

My friend jovially told me, “You are not going to carry heavy bags with medicine samples. Now you can just carry papers only and avoid waiting for long hours.” 

Though meant as a joke, I thought it had deep meaning and agreed to take up the job in a new sector.

Today, in the global scenario, traffic has become a big question mark, and this issue should be answered by the international community. The traffic increase is mainly due to migrating populations and everyone wanting to travel by car. Because of too much traffic, no one has the patience to get to their destination, so we see speeding, reckless driving and accidents. So many commuters are travelling with one person per vehicle and it’s taking up more space on the roads, creating a bigger traffic menace.

To avoid this, people should join their friends and begin carpooling systems to reduce traffic. Offices and schools should be flexible in their timings, because this would also contribute to traffic reduction. Better road infrastructure would also increase the traffic flow. If traffic is maintained with these precautions and rational drivers, we would decrease the likelihood of accidents and casualties.

Companies should provide transportation for carrying groups of employees to the same areas. Ultimately, people need to cooperate in all possible ways to reduce traffic and make travel more comfortable. In my home country, only a few states have good infrastructure. The Indian government should develop this important issue. My home city is not developed with good roads, even though it is a world famous IT destination. Traffic delays your work, patience and, above all, it threatens your life.

The Net age has altered the meaning of the joint family system. There is nothing to replace the fun of family togetherness.

Next day all the guests  arrived at Sharjah cricket Stadium.Murthy and Raj was thrilled to see the stadium which  was created a big  impact in One day international matches and the stadium was  compact and elegant.
Raj.I never expected that i will be visiting this great stadium.
Srivatsava.Yes,i too
Ram.This stadium was popular for One day matches  and particularly India and Pakistan  .People will come all over the Globe for seeing the matches.
Murthy.This belongs to whom.
Ram. This  was constructed in 1980 if i am right   by  AbdulRahman Bhukatir who is a leading industrialist in Sharjah  having many  Companies .He is a great fan of Cricket.The man who has created a revolution by constructing this beautiful stadium in the desert.
Murthy.Yes,An arab interested in Cricket is great.
Ram.In his establishment most of the Indians are having good position.
Raj.Nice.
After finishing the stadium they came to Saravana Bhavan restaurant in King Faisal street ,Sharjah.
Prasanna's mother was happy to see the ground which she has seen in T.V .with Prasanna when he was studying in the Collage.
Vasanthy.I am also seeing the Stadium first time.
Raj.I see,who arranged for this.

Ram.Not for me.Prasanna told me the other day but i was also thinking how far you people like to see.
Raj.We all liked the stadium.

Vasanthy.No,I will come tomorrow.

Tribute to Cinematographer George C.Williams 386.

Today i remembered another interesting film personality from Tamil film industry is none other than Cinematographer George C.Williams.In his school days he was more admired by the Stalwarts Cinematographers P.C.Sriram,Santhosh Sivan and Jeeva.He dis his Visual communication  from the famous Christian college.Later he joined with famous Cinematographer Nirav Shah as an assistant and learned the art of cinematography.Then he become an independent Cinematographer for the Popular Director A.R.Murugadoss movies.He worked with Vijay,Nayan tara and many others in his short film career of Four years is laudable.Kaththi has created a good name for his beautiful work.I have seen RajaRani,Kathithi,and Naanum Rowdythan.The latest movie Theri i have not seen.He is one of the   talented Upcoming Cinematographer.I have been repeatedly mentioning in this Column Cinematography is an art that will mesmarise.Today i am very happy to tribute this Cinematographer.

The article about US President Barack Obama saying he will not campaign for gun law opponents was an interesting read (‘No vote for tighter gun law opposers’. Gulf News, January 9). The US has witnessed a lot of shooting incidents, mostly in schools in many different states. No reform on gun culture has been framed by the administration so far. On one hand, people want to safeguard their rights and on the other hand, this freedom has been misused by bad elements of the communities. Even before Obama’s departure, he may not succeed in bringing about any miracles on this issue, but the new administration should make a law for the safety of the people. The US is fighting terrorism in the country and this issue should not be delayed further. Will the new administration in 2016 take this call?

Mother.Earlier Prasanna has told me about Dubai and today i am seeing on my own eyes.Great City

Mother.Yes,Mysore is beautiful and the people also nice.
Vasanthy.I left Bengaluru twenty years back.Now it might have developed nicely
Raj.Yes,lot of new buildings have come .Real estate is booming.But the traffic is too much today and roads are bad.
Vasanthy.I read in papers roads are bad and   lots of potholes.
Raj.  State government  can develop the city but no political will from the government  to serve the people
Vasanthy. Sad.Here even though this is managed by rulers they take care of the people.
Raj.Correct. Today Dubai  is World famous city.

Toda i  remembered another interesting film personality from the Tamil film industry is none other than Cinematographer M.S.Prabhu.Started his career with ace Cinematographer P.C.Sreeram and later become independent Cinematographer.He has worked in Tamil,Telugu and Hindi films with top class actors Viz,Rajinikanth, KamalHassan,VijayKanth,Prabhu,Vijay,Cheran, Sneha, ,Hindi actors Anil Kapoor,Rekha,Raveena tandon,and many others.In his Twenty  two year film career he  has given many remarkable movies.Beautiful indoor and out door shots will be more visible in his movies.I have seen few movies of this Cinematographer.Those films are,Mahanadi,Thavamai Thavamirunthu,
Pirivom Santhippom,Ramana,Ayan,Sura,and Neethane En Pon Vasantham.He is one of the talented Cinematographers from  Tamil film industry established his name .Today i am very happy to tribute this talented Cinematographer.

Fresh air

It is the pleasant weather that has pulled me to Bengaluru where I have been staying for quite some time. The city is even called as a “pensioner’s paradise” by some people, as elderly people prefer the cool ambience.  But things are changing. Like many other urban cities, pollution is posing a big challenge. I was mentioning to a friend how I enjoyed fresh air in the clean city of Sharjah when I worked there for several years and he was amazed. No wonder, the entire world loves the UAE.

I feel that whenever some discussions happen, and this time, it has occurred after Modi’s personal visit, an attack occurs. Especially this time, it is a highly condemned one. Pakistan should demonstrate its good intentions to have a peaceful relationship with India and take action against the terror groups that are creating a bad name for the country. Next day all the guests went for Desert safari including Prasanna's mother.She enjoyed the drive in the desert.Most of the visitors visiting Dubai will be going  for this adventure .Kathambari and Prasanna also  liked this.While going Murthy was telling.

Today i am going to pen another interesting film personality from the Tamil Film Industry is none other than Writer ,Director K.S.Adhiyaman.Started his earlier career with Late Director K.Vijayan and later become independent Writer ,Director.He has worked with all top class actors  viz,Madhavan,Karthik,Late Raghu varan,Prakash Raj,ParthibDeva yani,and many others.In his three and half decades career  he has  Contributed few remarkable movies with one National award film is worth to be mentioned here.He has also  directed two hindi films also with Leading actors Shahrukhan,Salman khan,Atul Agnihotri,and Aishwarya rai.Pleasing Cinematography,good story dialoques will be visible in his movies.Sriram,Nagendran and Anand Kumar are the Cinematographers contributed his movies.I have seen few remarkable movies of this talented Director.Those movies,Thotta Chinungi,( got National award for him,),Priyasakhi,Thoondil,Swarna mukhi,and Hum Tumhare Sanam (Hindi).Today i am very happy to tribute this talented Writer ,Director.

It’s quite strange that militants launch attacks on Indian targets whenever these countries make such overtures.

At this critical time, the two countries must demonstrate their resolve to maintain a peaceful relationship.

However, this aim should not deter Mr Modi  from taking stern action against the perpetrators.

Whatever mixed opinions are coming through on this issue, the Juvenile Justice Amendment Bill suits India. As per previous incidents, children who are 16 years old seem to be engaging in serious crimes. Rehabilitation is a welcome reaction to this, but at the same time, we should realise the agony that affected parents go through because of some juvenile offenders.

Two-fold plan

The year 2015 posed many domestic and international challenges. A few friends of mine met recently and we discussing about our New Year resolutions. Some said they would quit coffee and opt for tea. 

One wanted to quit smoking. When my turn came, I mentioned two things: One, not to react or argue with others that eventually takes away my peace and the other to continue to raise my voice for the common man’s cause, both in print and social media. 

My friends’ cheerful endorsement of my resolutions inspires me to stick to my word.
