Letter Published in Gulf News UAE on 3 Jan 16,  Facebook debate: Is the Juvenile Justice Amendment Bill effective?
Readers debate the effectiveness of India’s new Bill, which allows children above 16 to be tried in adult courts
A welcome step

Whatever mixed opinions are coming through on this issue, the Juvenile Justice Amendment Bill suits India. As per previous incidents, children who are 16 years old seem to be engaging in serious crimes. Rehabilitation is a welcome reaction to this, but at the same time, we should realise the agony that affected parents go through because of some juvenile offenders.
