In our last Senior Citizen’s Club meeting, we decided to go for a picnic and asked members’ suggestions for a place convenient to reach and return the same day. Many suggested far-off places which were not suitable. Finally, we decided on a particular spot in our city of Bengaluru. 

When the actual list was prepared the numbers were less. “Let’s not care about numbers. We will go anyway,” suggested a member.

I told him one should not ignore the power of numbers especially in the context of the situation in Tamil Nadu where a political drama has been unfolding over the number of legislators. Everyone had a hearty laugh.
